Probably nothing new.
It's certainly nothing new for the Son that Dad is cheating on Mom, he had to cover for him before already. His understanding is that Mom's probably asexual and Dad just having his needs, but not looking for divorce or something serious. They have not talked it out in depth, however. Now, the latest Dad's conquest is more troublesome than usual, mostly because our guy have his own crush on that young girl too.
1. She's someone he knows from school (college), work or whatever other setting, and had lusted after before already.
a) he actually asked her out, had her as girlfriend and probably even did introduce her with Dad. Now he catch them in compromising situation - her cheating on him - and wonder, is he used as a cover story all along. But he won't go down without a fight.
b) Dad actually encouraged him to ask her out. He soon find out, it is intended as a cover story for them. He however decide to compete on his own rights.
c) Son has his crush but has not acted on it or even had been refused. Now he see his chance, he blackmail them (either or both) and offers to be a cover story, but hopes for more.
d) It was Son's plan all along, thinking he has no chance at the girl directly, he did bring her for his Dad, counting on *inheriting* her when Dad will lose interest. But it goes on for too long and he's becoming impatient.
2. Son didn't know Dad's new young mistress before, but develop a crush on first sight, thinking it's unfair to such a pretty thing, as the Dad is clearly just toying with her. Or so he thinks.
a) he attempts his own pass on her, trying to win her from Dad fair and square. Dad fail to cut it out right away, seeing chance to use it as cover story.
b) he blackmail Dad, inserting himself in their relationship as cover story, with clear intend to win her for himself.
c) Dad is actually asking Son's help in either seducing the girl and/or covering for him. Son sees opportunity for himself.
Now, what would the girl choose, Son or Dad, and should she choose at all? Will Son and Dad complete and fight, or learn to work together? And where is Mom in all this mess, is she the ignorant bystander she seems to be?
