I found a great deal at JCPenney for one of Recidiva's Christmas gifts. I'm safe posting about it here since she's currently on Lit hiatus. She's going to LOVE this.. She was looking at a one the last time we went shopping but it was out of her price range and she nearly settled for a cheaper model. By sheer luck I stumbled across it at 50% off.

I see lots of baked goods in my future. ;)

Nice work, Santa! She'll love it.

Darn, I have so much shopping left to do. You're making me look like a slacker! Oh wait, I totally am.

That purchase concludes my gift shopping for the holiday season.

I hate waiting for the last minute.

Ooohhh

That's sexy

Until we get pics of you with the mixer, yes.

:D

Then, well... I might just stalk you

Just what I need, an axe murderess stalker..
Nope, no pics other than my profile from when I was young and handsome. We men deteriorate badly with age you know. ;)

But I wouldn't huuuuuurt you.

I'd just watch you cook. And bake. And stuff.

Somehow I'm not convinced. ;)
Speaking of cooking, it's almost time for Reci to wake up. I'm off to make breakfast. French toast and fresh OJ from the tree in our back yard.

UD, you got me to look at your profile. I'm glad that you have your shopping done. I went to the mall last weekend and it was mobbed. I hope more people have finished their shopping so it's a little less crazy.

This was on your profile. I fixed it for you:

"It is a truism that almost any liberal will legislate its creed into law if it acquires the political power to do so, and will follow it by suppressing opposition, subverting all education to seize early the minds of the young, and by killing, locking up, or driving underground all heretics." - Lazarus Long, "Time Enough for Love"

Next year, shop online. Usually I'm done and wrapped by Thanksgiving but this year I procrastinated. Still, everything is en route, all but two sites with free shipping and horking major deals--holiday flannel pj's $16.99 buy one get one free. Toys marked down from $35 to $10....plus I accrued major "mypoints".

I may wait till the last two weeks every year, unless I'm after specific items.

I see a lot of folding wash in your future. :D (You have to watch the video...)

Good work U_D; she will absolutely love it. I got a Kitchenaid stand mixer a few years ago, and it makes bread and other baked-good making really simple. I make all our bread now because the mixer does all the kneading and homemade bread is wonderful. :)

Wow - that is fabulous! I got a mixer last year and it has really helped in my cooking baking extravaganza!

What color did you get?
*please say pink*

It ain't calphalon but........damned nice!

Nice to see I'm not the only one who despises "non stick" bakeware & cookware.

Recidiva and I despise non-stick or "teflon" pans. They always get scratched and start to flake off material that does god knows what to your innards.

You don't get to "fix" direct literary quotes.

This is a "look at the present I got my wife" thread, take your politics and jam 'em where the sun don't shine.

I don't allow people to get me presents but I graciously accept them when someone decides they just have to get one but if my husband ever got it in his head to give me a kitchen appliance of any kind for Chistmas he'd spend the next 6 months in physical therapy.

No pink, I bought her the stainless one. She's gonna LOVE it.

*sigh*
I don't know why people would get mad over nice kitchen ware for xmas? I NEVER buy myself that kind of stuff and love it when someone buys the extra nice stuff for me.

That's exactly why I bought it for her. It's something she wouldn't have bought for herself but really really wanted. I stopped her from settling for a lesser model a month or so ago. It was still a stand mixer, but with only two regular beaters like the ones on a hand mixer. The dough hook, paddle beater and whisk will come in a lot more handy.
