* ok not really (careful what you wish for) , but I tend to think intensely about everything and I see people who seem to be only scratching the surface. They don't contemplate the complexities of life. They don't think on a deeper level than work, paying the bills, family, vacations etc...

I think these people are lucky...I have had so much anguish trying to figure everything out and I just keep unravelling more stuff to ponder, yet only occasionally coming up with a plausible theory.

you mean you don't know?

that's what I mean, sometimes the obvious surpasses us 'deep thinkers'.

I just had this same conversation with my Mom. I told her, "Sometimes I wish I was a vegtable like the docs said I would." If I didn't have a brain, I sometimes think I'd be better off.

I understand.

The things that I see that drive people...I'm very guilty of it myself but I also know there's more...but what is a deeper level? And how many people are there out there that can relate?

I once had to work a job that was "beneath me"...and I saw someone with much less talent getting the show...I questioned someone I worked with and I asked "why?" and her quote to me was "Honey in this business everything is good and just grab your paycheck."

Made me find a new job.

What else is there?

Sometimes I'm in a cab...and I see some guy doing his job...like a consrtuction worker or a street cop and I wonder if that's what he wanted from life...is it enough...does he have people who love him,a family, what else is there to him and I wonder why does he keep going on...nobody knows him, nobody cares...but i do becouse someone has to and even if we are just all ants scurrying about...it is better than nothing becouse I've been there too and nothing really sucks.

It's a good thing for gravity or else we'd all just fall off the planet.

:)

The trick is to remember that nothing really matters except what you make of it...words i wish I could follow but it's the truth.

I don't have any other answers.

Simpleton eh? Just repeat over and over, "Big government is good." Don't forget the old standby, "I don't have personal responsibility for the things that happen to me." That oughta do it!
The type of people you describe also don't influence the way thing go, they just roll with it. That is contrary to why we're on this planet, to make a difference. You have to think to make correct decisions. :D

Keep thinking

"I think therefore I am" it's what makes us individuals.
Profound thought............oh forget it fancy a shag?
