NaNo is approaching... Sign-ups start October 1st. Have you prepared? Have you been stretching, warming up, filling out your character sheets?

The latter was what saved me last year. I'd never been able to complete all 50K if I hadn't done so much research beforehand, and had so much info on my characters to fill out the story.

I found a great character sheet at Ecclesiastic, but unfortunately, they have no changed it, to the worse IMO. So, I copied it, "fixed" it, and converted it into a PDF-file.

You may have it, if you want. Here it is.

The line for kneeling and thanking and giving my gifts begins at the left. ;)

I have my storyline planned out, character's outlined, and reams of research done and in notebook.

Maybe I'll be able to finish this year.

Not even got a storyline yet.

but i'm doing it :) Crazy woman that I am, I'm doing it!

I just decided today. I WAS going to write another manga synopsis, but then I changed my mind. I'm gonna write a fantasy story about people and dragons. :)

I'm entering this year!

God knows why, I've been known to take days over one sentence. I'll never finish. Nevertheless, I have a really good idea in my head and am ready and raring to go.

Yay! :D

What a coincidence, NaNo takes place the same month that I have a big exam in Computer Science... :D

Thanks, the chart looks great. I can't wait till we get some printer ink so I can print it out.

I'm thinking of cheating this year and re-writing the same novel I wrote last year. I finally have some deeper insight into my character and the stories been on my mind and what I want to do with it requires some drastic work. For me, that would be the least lazy thing to do. I might do the most lazy thing instead and start on something else instead. my romance novel that's been in the works for about 10 years now might be a good start too. (a romance novel shouldn't take that long to write  I'm a world class procrastinator.)

Have just worked out that if I wrote 6 of my fanfic episodes, then I'd pass 50,000 words. It's really tempting... but I think I want to try for the actual novel.

I would except...

I have one musical MC series to write, a standalone story for my Stringbreaker series, and if I don't start writing for 'A Master's Ring' again, I'm going to have a riot on my hands.

Maybe next year.

*sigh*

Sincerely,
ElSol

It always collides with something really important. That's part of it's charm.

I'm in.

If I act cute can I ask a stupid question?

what is NaNo?

Thanks :)

A shortening of NaNoWriMo, or National Novel Writing Month. The idea is to write a 50,000 word novel in a month with load s of other crazy people offering you moral support. Our Svenska's an expert.

November.... hmmm

*smirks* what the hell :) why not try.

I haven't tried anything that long since my doomed novel I started in 5th grade... I wonder if the 5 1/4 inch disks its on are still good *giggle*

*blush* Oh, Earl!

Yes, Alex, it's an international on-line writing challenge. Like Earl said, the goal is to write a novel of 50.000 words in 30 days. You mustn't start before November 1st, and you must be done before midnight November 30th.
On October 1st, you may sign up at http://www.nanowrimo.org, where they have a forum pretty much like this, where other NaNo-ers will give you help and support.

Around here, Lou's in charge of the LitWriDoNaNoWriMo, or Literotica Writers Do National Novel Writing Month. She's the one who made us aware of this concept, so we honour her each year. :)

That's kinda funny, Sven! I thought this thread was gonna be about the new Harry Potter movie.

So am I, and I like being one, having testicles and all, so I avoid calling Svenska Sv-- That name you used. I don't think she saw it yet, so quick, throw a sheet over it or something...

This is the making of a Halloween story I'd be too afraid to read.

*cringes in the corner*
