than folks whining about Dom's who done them wrong, subs who are sammy, toys toys and more toys, and songs that are stuck in our heads or that make us want to cum (mine is Moments in Love by The Art of Noise) :D

Anyway, need to do some image cropping but have Linux on my laptop. Any computer guru's (*cough* geeks) amongst us who could suggest something for me without me having to scour the world wide web?

Dude. I have no clue... I'm lucky to get Photoshop to stop freezing on me lately, and I don't have the complication of Linux to contend with. LOL

(FYI - my current stuck in my head lust song is Damien Rice's Me My Yolk and I)

I don't know, cause I don't have linux. I have a friend who does. I'll ask her to ask her boyfriend and report back.

These days (for me) it's Scorpions 'Rock You Like A Hurricane'

Photobucket lets you crop and edit images on their website and there's no need to install any programs.

You ladies (and gent) are great! Thanks so much for the help. I'll have to look into Photobucket and Pixel Image Editor. :cattail:

IRFANVIEW (for Windows Users only ... sorry, oops. Linux users scroll down a bit please.)

IrfanView is a very fast, small, compact and innovative FREEWARE (for non-commercial use) graphic viewer for Windows 9x/ME/NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista.

It is trying to be simple for beginners and powerful for professionals.

IrfanView is trying to create new and/or interesting features in its own way, unlike some other graphic viewers, whose whole "creativity" is based on feature cloning, stealing of ideas and whole dialogs from ACDSee and/or IrfanView! (for example: XnView has been stealing/cloning features and whole dialogs from IrfanView, for 8+ years).

IrfanView was the first Windows graphic viewer WORLDWIDE with Multiple (animated) GIF support.
One of the first graphic viewers WORLDWIDE with Multipage TIF support.
The first graphic viewer WORLDWIDE with Multiple ICO support.

Some IrfanView features:
Many supported file formats (click here the list of formats)
Multi language support
Thumbnail/preview option
Paint option - to draw lines, circles, arrows, straighten image etc.
Toolbar skins option
Slideshow (save slideshow as EXE/SCR or burn it to CD)
Show EXIF/IPTC/Comment text in Slideshow/Fullscreen etc.
Support for Adobe Photoshop Filters
Fast directory view (moving through directory)
Batch conversion (with image processing)
Multipage TIF editing
File search
Email option
Multimedia player
Print option
Support for embedded color profiles in JPG/TIF
Change color depth
Scan (batch scan) support
Cut/crop
IPTC editing
Effects (Sharpen, Blur, Adobe 8BF, Filter Factory, Filters Unlimited, etc.)
Capturing
Extract icons from EXE/DLL/ICLs
Lossless JPG rotation
Unicode support
Many hotkeys
Many command line options
Many PlugIns
Only one EXE-File, no DLLs, no Shareware messages like "I Agree" or "Evaluation expired"
No registry changes without user action/permission!
and much much more

IrfanView sounds like great software, Wildflower, but since it's Windows based, I can't use it. My laptop is Linux based, which is almost like Mac, more akin to Unix.

Thank you for this great research though:rose:

Yeah I missed the Linux part while reading your post. Was on the phone plus answering two PMs at the same time. Great program for windows though.

I'm a big fan of GIMP on my PC, and it appears to have a Linux/Unix version.

GIMP is comparable to photoshop, but has a better price tag (ie Free). I very strongly suggest it for image manipulation on the cheap.

I don't know why I just didn't ask you in the first place.Probably because you were so busy teasing me about falling off my chair:D

Also, thanks to Wildflower for the additional idea:cattail:

Well, you did fall off your chair, so it is appropriate that someone pick on you about it. I just happen to be that someone.

Seriously, check out GIMP. It has a bit of a learning curve, but assuming the two versions are similar, you'll get it. The online help files are a HUGE help.

Yeah Yeah Yeah. And you can only get away with it because...:D

I'll try GIMP and if I have questions I know who to come to;)
