The province where I live just announced yesterday that they are giving a lot of "skilled immigrants" jobs across the province. This bothers me because I know of several people, and myself, who are looking for employment at the moment. I have no problems with someone being hired over myself, or someone I know, if they are more qualified. If I apply for a job, and someone else applies for the same job, and they get the job because they have better qualifications, no problem, and enjoy the job. But if I apply for a job, and someone else that's less qualified than myself gets the job, because the company doing the hiring needs "to fill a quota" (for lack of a better term), than that bothers me.
This is strictly my opinion. If you feel differently than me that's fine. I'm not asking for everyone to agree with me, but I just needed to rant and get this off my chest.
