If Gore doesn't come out the winner after the recount,,, then, yeah, I'd say that something is fish stinking rotten down that way,,, and Jeb may not have anything to do with it at all,,,

Not too many govenors actually know what goes on in their state, and Jeb isn't as powerful as he wants everyone to believe,,, so he most likely doesn't have the influence to directly cause ballot tampering,,, NOW, the good 'ol boy network may have come into play somewheres along the line,,

The Florida government ( state and local levels ) used to be riddled with the good 'ol boys who were not beneath taking a bribe or three to benefit another good 'ol boy,,,

We shall just have to wait to see what shakes out from that tree

Eve, I do think we will know within a few days. But with politics, who knows for sure, it may be several weeks with all of the absentee ballots that need to recounted.

hold off the slammin of florida. those 'seesayers' were a bit froggy last nite, just because someone has the majority vote early on doesn't mean they got the whole vote... they said gore had won it only an hour after the polls closed.

last i heard the update on the polls said that gore and bush were within 1200 votes of each other, and by florida law recount is mandatory when it is that close.

the green party got over 95,000 of florida's votes.. how's that for a statement?

and not only do we have to wait for the recount but we gotta see what the absentee ballets bring in.. the largest majority being military who will more than likely sway towards bush

everyone knows this part of the south is considered the 'bible belt' and very much conservative... shouldn't be suprised that the race is so close....

flagg.. as far as the population voting goes this has been the most successful year in recent history.. over 50% of the total population and most absentee ballets not counted yet so that percentage will rise... i am proud to note that more and more of the younger college aged generation has voted this year than ever b4 also... those are our future leaders of this country

and as far as a the governor of texas and of florida conspiracy theory.... u know that the governor really has no control over the election officials.. they are elected not appointed

I just think that this whole election has been one big clutterfuck and no it wouldn't be fishy if Gore won Florida simply for the fact that if you take in to consideration that at least a couple thousand voters thought they were voting for Gore when in fact they casted their vote for Buchannan it'c quite possible for Gore to still win. The last I heard they were going to investigate that. Florida is not as conservative as some people would like to think. Regardless of who wins, I think we should all reconsider this voting system we have. I think the media played a big roll in the screw ups all over the country as well.
