Write On

If you want to power up your memory, try writing down your worries.
Researchers speculate that the cathartic act of expressive writing may free up cognitive resources. This may be because writing about stressful events frees your mind of the burden of avoiding thoughts about them. Thus, mental energies once devoted to avoidant thinking become available for other tasks, such as remembering things.

I do that.
The first thing I do when I'm angry or upset, is reach for a notebook. Strange, I thought everyone did this.

Nope. I don't. A friend of mine has been encouraging me to do this, and then I got the mini article in my email this morning. Maybe I should start writing stuff down.

It helps.
Just start writing. Don't worry about the content, it doesn't matter just write it down and get it out. I've gone back and read some of the things I've written and it doesn't even make sense to me, but it helps at the time.
