Kassandra Bradley laughed softly to herself and shifted on the blanket she'd brought to the park. She enjoyed coming here, it was quiet and peaceful once you got away from all the kid stuff and she could just relax and de-stress. As usual she had a book with her and a light lunch consisting of a sandwhich, an apple and some baby carrots to munch on as a snack. Today she'd ignored both the lunch and the book and had just been watching the people that came through the park and making up stories about them in her head.

Shifting once more she felt the soft cotton of her sundress climb slightly up the back of her calves and shivered slightly as the sensation tickled her skin. The shifting revealed the ballet straps of the sandle she worse climbing up her skin, the dark brown leather making the soft golden glow of her skin stand out nearly as much as the white sundress did. People often thought she must tan to get that golden glow but like her mane of chestnut curls and brilliant sapphire eyes the skin was just another genetic blessing.

Having just finished her finals for the spring term she was looking forward to the break before summer classes started. She agreed to be part of a study of the occult over the break but she didn't figure it would take up too much of her time. It was just something her friend Jenna was running and she'd asked Kassandra to help out. Thinking about her plans for her break she cradled her head in her arms and drifted off into a light sleep with a smile playing over full coral lips as her conciousness slipped into a pleasant dream.

Jenna Came looking for her friend Kassandra she knew she would probably be in the park this time of day out on the meadow curled up with a book deep in her own world as usual. The two girls where as different as night and day Jenna was outgoing vivacious and tended to walk on the wild side while Kassandra seemed to be more content with her books and day dreams. The young redhead k was surprised when Dr. Laslow had accepted the shy auburn haired beauty into the program as he tended to only work with graduate students. He was renounced as a parapsychologist, though some would say infamous.

Jenna worried her lower lips as she spied Kassandra lying in the sun her eyes closed with a pleasant little smile bowing her lips lost in her dream world again. She wasn’t sure how her friend would take the news that the study would not be conducted at the university but rather on a small island in the straits off the coast. It was a remote location and there would be none of the normal diversions of life in the university town.

“Kassy so there you are I have been looking for you all morning!”

Jenna’s voice was light and gay but there was a worried little frown on her normally cheerful face.

“I have and update on the project Kassy and I am not sure your going to like it.”

Jenna’s voice was light and gay but there was a worried little frown on her normally cheerful face.

Kassandra's eyes blinked open at the sound of her friends voice and she tilted her head to look up at her without getting up and patted the blanket beside her.

"Sit down Jenna, I'm getting a crick in my neck looking up at you. Now what's the update?" she asked as her friend sat down indian style on the blanket. She could see the worried look in Jenna's eyes and wondered what was going that had her normally bouncy, crazy friend looking upset.

"I talked to Dr. Laslow this morning and he doesn't want to work on the project at the University. He's gotten permission to use an island in the straights, he doesn't want any of the normal distractions getting in the way of hte project."

Kassandra looked up at Jenna and just laughed softly, "You're worried that I'm going to be mad about that? Jenna you're a goose. You know I like where it's quiet and peaceful and being on an island for a few weeks sounds good. Be at my place tomorrow morning to pick me up, I'll make sure I pack enough clothes and such. Now scoot! I'm sure you have some party or soemthing to go to tonight before you're trapped on an island with no socializing in sight for weeks on end!"

They both laughed and Jenna took off knowing that Kassandra wouldn't come with her to the party she did indeed need to get ready for.

Kassandra spent another hour or so laying stretched out on her blanket before the sun started to sink and she knew it was time to go. Packing up her things into her car she drove back to the small apartment she rented near campus. She liked having her own place much better than living in a loud and noisy dorm. Packing was easy and only took her about a half an hour to have everything neatly arranged into one suitcase. The sight of it made her laugh softly because she could just picture the number of bag that Jenna would be carting around with them.

The only thing she had a problem packing was a strange medallion that Jenna had given her when she'd agreed to work on the project. Jenna hadn't really told her what it was only that Dr. Laslow had given her one for each of them. She kept feeling hte strange urge to pull it out and look at it so at last she simply put it on the nightstand by her bed where she could glance at it and promised herself she'd pack it in the morning.

Her evening was quiet and she went to bed early so that she'd be awake and ready when Jenna arrived. While she slept she continued to shift in her bed until her hand creeped up onto the nightstand and her fingers curled around the strange medallion laying there.

Her evening was quiet and she went to bed early so that she'd be awake and ready when Jenna arrived. While she slept she continued to shift in her bed until her hand creeped up onto the nightstand and her fingers curled around the strange medallion laying there.

As the young beauty’s fingers caressed the medallion, the soft warm caress of flesh stirred something deep with in the innocent looking piece of metal. While Kassandra lay there half asleep, half awake, in a world neither of the waking nor of blissful sleep a world where the two both existed the medallion glowed with a shimmering crimson light soft subtitle and seductive. Slowly hauntingly as her delicate finger closed around the medallion a vision came to her of a fog shrouded coast a mansion high on a wind swept bluff trees twisted and gnarled by the winds of time and countless storms that had buffeted them. The gothic Manson surrounded by this surrealistic landscape towering over the coast as if a sentential its dark lifeless widows looking out on the world. In her dream Kassandra walked the path from the dock to the sentinel on the bluff, the gnarled branches of the trees reaching out to grasp at her clothing tearing at them and unseen eyes watched her approach. It was if that lonely mansion was calling her drawing her near and near as if it possessed a life of its own as if it hungered for her.

Come, come my lovely, come to me! a deep haunting voice echoed in her mind. The scarlet door of the mansion loomed before Kassandra a grotesque face of a gargoyle formed the knocker, as her shaking hand reached for it the door creaked open.

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

The morning dawned bright and clear Kassandra’s alarm clock buzzing calling her back to the world of the living the medallion clutched in her hand her hand laying on her firm young breast. 7 AM by nine she had to be at the 10th street dock to meet Dr. Laslow and the other members of the project. She was the last to arrive and Jenna smiled and waved excitedly as Kassandra appeared at the head of the slip.

Come, come my lovely, come to me! a deep haunting voice echoed in her mind.

As her alarm went off she couldn't remember the rest of what she'd been dreaming but that voice stayed with her as she ate her breakfast and made ready to leave. She was the last one to reach the slip and she waved to Jenna who looked like she'd never gone to bed the night before. She had wanted to tell her friend about the strange dream but now that she saw her she simply felt compelled to not say anything. She'd tell her later when there weren't so many other people around.

She didn't really know most of the other people they were traveling with but figured she would get to know them once they were all confined to an island together. Most of the way across the straits she was simply quiet and sat back watching those around her. She wasn't trying to be antisocial she simply wasn't the social butterfly that Jenna was. Watching her friend was often all the excitement she needed and always brought a smile to her lips.

When at last they had crossed the straits and reached the slip on the island Kassandra felt the strongest sense of deja vu, as if she'd been here before though she knew she hadn't. And again she heard that voice from her dream echoing in her mind,
Come, come my lovely, come to me!

She had wanted to tell her friend about the strange dream but now that she saw her she simply felt compelled to not say anything. She'd tell her later when there weren't so many other people around.

There where thirteen waiting on that slip including Dr. Laslow and Jenna, Kassandra made fourteen. The little group was composed of graduate students several years older than Kassandra or Jenna they all seemed self absorbed and only briefly glanced at her. the surprising thing was they where all women except for Dr. Laslow. Jenna spent most of her time just lying on the fore deck of the small launch that was ferrying them to the Island dozing in the bright morning sun. As the launch came around the point the young auburn haired beauty caught her first view of the house that would be there home for the next few weeks. Kassandra felt the strongest sense of deja vu, as if she'd been here before though she knew she hadn't. And again she heard that voice from her dream echoing in her mind.

Come, come my lovely, come to me!

“Are you all right Kassy you look like you have seen a ghost!”

Jenna’s voice came to her as if from a dream the mansion stood on the bluff its windows looking out to sea the path that lead from the dock was lines with wind swept trees twisted and gnarled.

“Kassy!”

“Welcome to Gull Island and Raven’s Rest.”

Dr. Laslow was pointing to the house that stood as a lonely sentential on the bluff above.

Raven Rest was the home of Mica Winthorpe an industrialist of the 19th century. Some say he was a Spiritualist others that he devoted himself to the occult, but all seem to believe that Raven’s Nest is haunted and that my young colloquies is what we are here to find out.

Dr. Laslow told the gruesome stories of the supposed haunting of Raven’s Rest and he seemed to put little faith in them. As they approached the front door a shadow passed across its scarlet surface and the grotesque face of a gargoyle knocker seemed to smile. the cloud quickly passed and a dull brass lifeless figure stared back with unseeing eyes as Laslow opened the door. The entry hall was mammoth and the rich tones of exotic woods shined in the early morning light. It was a crazy mixture of gothic ginger bread and eastern arches more suited to a gothic horror novel then a home.

I am afraid that the house lacks many of the modern conveniences that you are use to. There is no phone or electricity the university has supplied us with a generator for the test equipment, and I have my cell phone incase an emergency arises. Now there are rooms with a bath, yes there is hot and cold water.

Laslow joked as he smiled for the first time.

So why don’t you find a room unpack and we will meet back here in say and hour.

“Kassy come on lets find a you a room I have already picked one out but from now on it is first come first served.”

“Are you all right Kassy you look like you have seen a ghost!”

Giving a slightly shakey laugh she smiled at Jenna and nodded, "I'm fine, just a really strong sense of deja vu is all."

Grabbing her bag she followed the rest of the group up the path toward the house and that sense of deja vu grew stronger. She could almost feel the gnarled trees reaching for her. The house almost seemed to beckon to her and it made her shudder. There was something eerily familiar about this house and the sight of the door knocker almost drew a cry from her lips but she stifled it and stepped through the door of the house.

She barely listened to the stories that Dr. Laslow told as she tried to push down that strange sense of unease and deja vu. It was Jenna's voice that snapped her out of it, “Kassy come on lets find a you a room I have already picked one out but from now on it is first come first served.”

With a laugh both girls ran up the stairs and Kassandra laid claim to what must have once been the master bedroom. The thing was huge and the bed in it was monstrous. Dark wood decorated the room and everything was matched in blues and reds. She all but threw herself onto the bed with a laugh.

"This place is creepy and great at the same time, I think I'm going to like it here," she said with a grin.

"Of course you are, now get unpacked. My room is two doors down, not quite so huge as this but still delicious," Jenna said before disappearing to do her own unpacking.

Kassandra set about unpacking and quickly had all her clothes hung and in drawers. The medallion she'd strung on a leather chord that morning and she now hung it around her neck and slipped it under her shirt. She wasn't sure why she felt the urge to wear it only that she did and that she wanted to feel it against her skin. She didn't stop to wonder at the fact that it should have been cold but wasn't, that it was warm against her skin.

Less than an hour later she grabbed Jenna from her room and they were back in the hallway downstairs waiting for the rest of the group. She might not put much stock in matters of the occult but Kassandra was looking forward to their time here, it would be an adventure and she intended to enjoy herself.

The medallion she'd strung on a leather chord that morning and she now hung it around her neck and slipped it under her shirt. She wasn't sure why she felt the urge to wear it only that she did and that she wanted to feel it against her skin.

The dark sensual warmth of the medallion seemed as if by its own accord to nestle in the sweetly scented valley that lay between Kassandra’s firm young breasts. It was seductively comforting warmth that seemed to spread through out her young body, dark and sensual in its very nature.

Less than an hour later she grabbed Jenna from her room and they were back in the hallway downstairs waiting for the rest of the group. Jenna had changed she wore a very daring but fetching black mini dress and a pair of black leather boots that came to just below her knees. Her crimson hair was lose and wild and it flowed freely as she moved arm and arm with Kassandra a stinking contrast to her pale skin. The others slowly joined them in the main entry hall most of them opting for outfits of black or dark mid-night blue some of the girls where skirts others form fitting jeans and all wore medallions around their necks very similar to the one Kassandra wore beneath her shirt.

Dr, Laslow was by the heart at the far end of the hall where a fire now burned on the hearth he turned as the students gathered his voice light and cheery.

“Ladies lunch is served.”

The lunch Dr. Laslow offered was sandwiches and beer. and his young students smile as they grabbed lunch and huddled around the warmth of the fire. While they ate he began to hand each one their assignments for the Day. Jenna and a girl called crystal wher to make the evening meal. Some where assigned to set up and test the equipment that that had brought. Laslow turned to Kassandra smiling.

“You Miss Bradley if you would be so kind I would like you to make a floor plan of the first floor and basement of Raven’s Rest. You will find a flashlight pencil and paper on the table by the door.”

“Kassy you can start with the kitchen.” Jenna laughed as she teased her young friend. as they made their way to the kitchen Jenna pointed out where the Dinning room was, the formal parlor , a ballroom and the library.

“And here Kassy is the door that leads to the basement.”

Jenna gave a theatrical laugh and then turned to the old fashioned ice box.

“While you get to explore my dear I get to play Cinderella and make the evening meal. I think I am jealous.”

Jenna gave a little girl pout and then laughed as she went to see what the ice box held.

Kassandra wasn't at all surprised by Jenna's appearance but what did surprise her was when the other girls arrived and they all seemed to be wearing clothing that was dark and sexy...as if they were all going out to a club not staying in an old house with no men their own age around. She felt slightly out of place in her faded jeans, an emerald green sweater and a pair of sneakers. She noticed that all of them were wearing similar medallions and she wondered what the significance of them was.

She was surprised when lunch was revealed as sandwhiches and beer. She ate until she was full but the beer she avoided and she promised herself she'd find some water or something later. When the Dr handed out his assignments she was glad for her. The gods knew that cooking wasn't her strong point and she was unfamiliar with the equipment he'd brought with him. She happily picked up the paper and pencil and tucked the flashlight into her back pocket before Jenna started showing her around.

The map was easy enough to make. The first floor had a pretty basic layout and she marked all the rooms as well as eyeballing their approximate dimensions on her map.

“And here Kassy is the door that leads to the basement.”

Jenna gave a theatrical laugh and then turned to the old fashioned ice box.

“While you get to explore my dear I get to play Cinderella and make the evening meal. I think I am jealous.”

Kassandra laughed and eyed Jenna before speaking, "Better the kitchen than the basement in that dress sweetie, you wouldn't want to ruin it with dust and spider webs which is what I'm sure I'll find down there."

With a grin she pulled out her flashlight and headed down the stairs figuring the basement would be easy enough to map. It was a basement after all and from the state of the house she doubted it was finished. If she was lucky maybe she'd find a wine rack or something interesting.

When Kassandra opened the door to the basement the hinges groaned and creaked like a scene from a “B” grade horror movie. There was and old fashion round electrical switch that tuned under her fingers with no results as Dr. Laslow said no modern convinces. The narrow beam of the young students flash light stabbed into the darkness and the narrow stairway led down into the darkness. The stairs where not of wood but solid masonry with a vaulted ceiling above and led to a narrow corridor that ran ahead into the darkness. Perhaps 50 feet ahead it ended in a “T” passage. As Kassandra continued to explore it became obvious that the basement had been built as a puzzle maze. A soft damp breeze flowed through the passages a haunting whispering breeze that kissed Kassandra’s golden cheeks, and caressed her body as if it had living fingers its touch sensual and dark. Unseen eyes watched the young beauty as she tried to map her way through the twisting puzzle maze. The disembodied voice of the breeze whispered.

Come, come my lovely, come to me!

A door suddenly appeared on her right and it led into a dusty room whose walls where lined with book shelves from floor to ceiling. Musty, dusty volume filled the shelves their leather bindings looking out staring Kassandra as if they where watching her every move. A small desk and chair was caught in the faint beam of her flash light and that light grew weaker by the second dimming to a pale feeble golden beam. On the desk stood a kerosene lamp it amber fluid shimmering in the fading light of the young girl’s flashlight and an old box of matches lay next to it. She was only half way to that promise of light and warmth when the feeble beam of her flashlight faded plunging Kassandra into the velvet darkness that now surrounded her, its dark fingers playing over her mind as the whispering breeze caressed her firm young body.

Kassandra was amazed at the basement. It wasn't at all what she expected and she had to laugh as she entered it. The way the door squealed was perfect and stone steps were both eerie and comforting. The vaulted ceiling was amazing and she wished the lights had worked so that she could see them better.

Making her way around it took her awhile to realize that she was caught in a maze and that fact startled her. They must have made the basement larger than the house to manage it! She felt the breeze running down the halls and across her face and shivered slightly suddenly glad she'd work jeans and a sweater and not one of the outfits the other girls had worn.

As her flashlight started to dim she cursed softly and it was then that she saw the door on her right. Opening it she stopped at what she saw. Books, books on every way from the ceiling to the floor. On the desk she saw the lamp and growled softly when her flashlight died on her. Fumbling through the room she made her way to the lamp and managed to get it lit.

Once she had the warm glow of the lamp going she looked around her more carefully. It would be so easy to lose herself down here in this room, all the books and the quiet made it so very tempting to her. Pulling one of the volumes off the shelves she settled behind the desk and opened it's heavy leather cover.

She saw the lamp and growled softly when her flashlight died on her. Fumbling through the room she made her way to the lamp and managed to get it lit. In those long moments of darkness hands blackest velvet caressed Kassandra their touch intimate and sensual, or was it just the breeze that played through the twisted maze only a figment of her imagination.

Pulling one of the volumes off the shelves she settled behind the desk and opened it's heavy leather cover. Pale flicker light from another century flickered over th page that had opened to Kassandra. The words on the page perhaps ancient Greek or Aramaic, an illuminated print of a young girl dressed in white withered in the embrace of a winged creature with demonic features. His skin as black as a moon less night his eyes blazing fire . A gust of wind turned the page The girl dress, perhaps her wedding dress lay in tatters at her feet her nubile body young and firm bared to the demon shreds of her dress hung from his talons hi mouth pressed to her breasts his serpents tail curled around her body drawing her to him. She stood in a circled pentagram and thirteen dark and haunting figures surrounded her.

The wick of the oil lamp gutted and sputter long dried from disuse and threatened to go out. Darkness again coming to embrace the auburn haired beauty, lonely all encompassing darkness.

“Kassy, Kassy where are you Kassy answer me.”

Jenna’s voice came from along ways away calling to the young beauty from out of the darkness.

Kassandra found hte book fascinating. She couldn't read it but page she opened it to was like artwork. The old text had that scrolled look about it that made each letter a painting in and of itself. The picture captured on the page however made her shudder. The girl and the demon were both so detailed that they almost seemed to leap off the page even though the book must be at least 100 years old if not more. She felt the gust of wind that made the page flip and looked around in surprise thinking there must be a crack in the foundation somewhere to allow such a powerful gust of air through.

Looking back down at the picture she was startled at the new image on the page. Unsure why it made her so uneasy she slammed the book closed as her lamp sputtered out and she was plunged into darkness once more. Growling softly she fumbled for the matches and would have sworn she felt fingers running across her breast and over her thigh. She knew that wasn't possible but it didn't stop her from shuddering and fealing a surge of fear running down her spine.

“Kassy, Kassy where are you Kassy answer me.”

"Back here Jenna!" she called out and grabbed the book off the desk before trying to make her way back to the door of the room. Strangely it seemed much further away now that it had before. "My flashlight went out and I can't find my way out of this room! It's too dark! Follow the sound of my voice and come get me!"

"My flashlight went out and I can't find my way out of this room! It's too dark! Follow the sound of my voice and come get me!"

The darkness that lived within those dark foreboding tunnels beneath Raven Rest sensed the fear, felt the sensual warmth of soft, delicate, living flesh. Its sense came alive at the sweet intoxicating fragrance of youthful innocence. A low murmuring hushed whisper enveloped Kassandra Bradley come my sweet come and embrace the darkness. Cold tendrils of unseen mist slowly took shape and slid under the emerald green sweater, icy fingers against soft warm flesh intimately caressing the frightened girl on the velvet darkness, and savoring the firmness of her young body.

The bobbing dodging beam of light bounced and twisted towards Kassandra the sounds of foot falls reached her ears as the blessed light grew ever nearer. Had those icy caresses been real of just a trick of her imagination. The loom of that white light bring hope.

“Kassy where are you?”

Jenna came though the door and Kassandra could see the beams of at least two more flashlights and the sounds of feet running. Dr. Laslow and Crystal soon appeared in the door.

“Kassy you stilly goose why didn’t you take another flashlight and a piece of chalk to mark your way you scared me half to death.”

Jenna saw th fear in her friends eyes and warped her arms around her.

“Kassy are you all right?”

Miss Bradley I apologize I forgot to warn you that the basement was a maze that’s why I wanted you…….to………map……………..it”

Laslow’s voice trailed off as he saw what the room contained his hands running almost lovingly over the leather spines of the books. Crystal saw the book that Kassandra still clutch to her.

Dr Laslow come her you must see this.

The girl’s voice was tinged with excitement that she could barely contain.

come my sweet come and embrace the darkness.

Kassandra shuddered at the voice that whispered in her ear and gasped when what felt like icy fingers seemed to cup her breasts. Going utterly still she tried to convince herself that it was her imagination, that what she thought she was feeling was just a reaction to a primal fear of a darkness with no light to break it.

Finally she saw the bright light of Jenna's flashlight and breathed a sigh of relief as her friend came into the room.

“Kassy you stilly goose why didn’t you take another flashlight and a piece of chalk to mark your way you scared me half to death.”

Jenna saw th fear in her friends eyes and warped her arms around her.

“Kassy are you all right?”

She let Jenna wrap her into a tight hugh while Crystal and Dr. Laslow entered the strange study and she nodded her head, "Yes I'm all right. Just a bit of fright is all. It's drafty down here and you know me Jen, I read to much, when the lamp went out my imagination created all sorts of monsters ready to come and have me for their midafternoon snack."

Dr Laslow come here you must see this.

Kassandra glared and her sapphire eyes flashed sharply as Crystal tried to reach for the book she still clung to. For some reason she didn't want the other girls hands on it. Crystal pulled back at the fierce glare in Kassandra's eyes and turned to the other books on the wall. She seemed to forget the book Kassandra clung to once it was out of her sight and Kassandra was glad for it. She felt oddly attached to the book just as she did the medallion.

Linking her arm through Jenna's she murmured, "Let's get out of here. I mapped how to get to this room and I'll come down and finish the map when I have some spare flashlights and a lamp as well."

Dr. Laslow watched the way Kassandra Bradley fiercely glared at Crystal, her emerald green eyes flaring the way she pressed the dusty leather tome to her breast. He said nothing as Kassandra told Jenna;

"Let's get out of here. I mapped how to get to this room and I'll come down and finish the map when I have some spare flashlights and a lamp as well."

Linking her arm through Jenna's.

“Well you’ll never guess what I found Kassy!”

the was a mischievous twinkle in Jenna’s bright blue eyes as they wandered back through the puzzle maze and stood at the bottom of the stairs and just to the side of them was a door and it opened on to a wine cellar.

“For bravery above and beyond the call of duty in service to the advancement of science Miss Bradley it is my pleasure to bestow on you the selection of wine for tonight dinner.”

Jenna broke down giggling and when she caught her breath she smiled into her friends eyes.

“We are having steak Hun so something red Pleaseeeeeeeeee.”

Jenna tented her hands if in prayer and begging Kassandra not to chose a white wine.

“Dr. Laslow I fear is very Hungarian and a bit of a prude when it comes to wine and dressing for dinner.”

Kassandra laughed softly at her friends parody of begging and grabbed her hands. "You know I don't know anything about wine, you pick it and we'll tell the good doctor that I made a lucky choice."

She grinned as she watched Jenna go through the wines available and knew she'd made the right decision in letting Jenna decide. She just wasn't much of a drinker and that included wine. She prefered a nice cold glass of water or iced tea to most alcohols. Finally they headed back upstairs and Kassandra was glad to not be down in the basement any longer though she did want to go back to that room...all those books!

Hugging the book she'd brought up with her she glanced at Jenna as something her friend had said came back to her, "You said the doctor was a prude about dressing for dinner...does that mean he expects us to dress up?"

“Why yes across he dose you should know from his lectures.”

Jenna’s hand flew to her mouth and she blushed as crimson as her hair.

“Oh God Kassy that’s right you have not had Dr. Laslow have you. Oh god I should have told you I jus didn’t think.”

Jenna was obviously embossed at her oversight and her blush turned from crimson to scarlet.

You do have something to wear a dressy dress something? Let the look on Kassandra’s face told Jenna that she did not. And Jenna blanched white.

“Hun I am so sorry, I should have…..”

Then that moment of embracement passed Jenna was her old vivacious self .

“Well Which would you prefer whit or crimson I just happen to have two dresses a girl always need to be prepared and you no how I hate always wearing the same old thing.”

They where outside of Kassandra’s room and Jenna gave her a big hug .

“Now you young lady need a bath if ever a girl did I’ll bring them both and then you can decide on which one suits best.”

Jenna was off in a whirl wind of activity as she head next door to her room leave Kassandra standing their in the hall.

Kassandra watched her friend leave and had to shake her head and chuckle softly. She was scared of what sort of dresses Jenna would bring over but she was right, Kassandra needed a bath. Slipping into her own room she had to gasp softly, there laid out across her bed was a shimmering white gown. She didn't dare touch it as dirty as she was but she couldn't wait to get clean and try it on.

Gently she set the old book she was holding down on the bed and all but ran into the bathroom connected to her room. Here she had yet another surprise. She hadn't bothered to look earlier but now that she did her breath caught. The tub was huge and recessed into the floor, if she'd wanted to she could just float in it like it was a small pool. Instead she turned on the hot water and stripped out of her dirty clothes.

Tossing her clothes into a corner she stepped down into the tub with a soft sigh of pleasure as the hot water wrapped around her body. It was only as she let her eyes fall closed and her body relax that she wondered where the dress on her bed had come from.

Tossing her clothes into a corner she stepped down into the tub with a soft sigh of pleasure as the hot water wrapped around her body.

Clouds of swirling mist hung in the cool air of that opulent bath room and something with out form watched as Kassandra hurriedly striped off her sweater and jeans. Its formless eyes devoured her naked beauty and yet it did not approach till the young beauty’s soft emerald green eyes fluttered closed and the lips of curling mist brushed hers gently. Warm moisture flowed across her lips like a lover begging admittance into the sweet confines of her mouth and then the sensation passed as if it had never existed.

“Kassy you little devil why didn’t you tell me you had a dress.”

Jenna’s voice was full of amazement and a touch of jealousy tinged it as she called to her friend.

“Come on dear lets see what it looks like on you. God its beautiful and I must say quite daring for you hun.”

As Kassandra came from her bath drying her hair she noticed that she had been in the bath for two hours.

“Come on dear lets see what it looks like on you. God its beautiful and I must say quite daring for you hun.”

Jenna's voice snapped her from the pleasant lull she'd been in. She'd have sworn she felt lips brushing hers but that could have only been the steam for there wasn't anyone in the room with her. Still it had been a pleasant feeling and she'd enjoyed it and was sad that it had to end with the sound of Jenna's voice.

Had she said daring?

Climbing from the tub she wrapped a towel around her body and one around her hair before walking back into the room and glancing between Jenna and the dress. Now that she looked at it she realized that it wasn't exactly daring by Jenna's standards but that it would be by her own. The neckline was lower than she usually wore and if she wasn't mistaken it would cling to her body in a way that left nothing hidden. Still it was a gorgeous dress and she couldn't wait to put it on.

"I don't know where it came from Jenna, it was there when I came back upstairs. I was so interested in that bath you mentioned that I haven't really thought about where it came from. Someone must have realized I have taken any of Dr. Laslow's classes and left it for me."

Drying off she let her towel fall away. She didn't worry about Jenna seeing her body, they'd been friend for years and had often changed in front of each other. She eyes the dress for a second and realized that not much was going to fit under it. The material was the sort that would cling to her body and would show the lines of a bra under it. Glancing down at her breasts she was grateful that they were firm and high and just full enough to have a good shape but small enough that she could forgo a bra without it being a problem.

Pulling the dress over her head she found she'd been right. The soft material clung to her arms and toso like a second skin while the skirt flared our gently around her hips and hung to just above her knees. The neckline was indeed more daring that she usually wore with a deep V between her breasts and the clinging material left little to the imagination. Still it was beautiful and she had no wish to take it off.

Bending from the waist she tipped her hair upsidedown to towel it dry and left the long curls hanging down her back in a chestnut cascade. Meeting Jenna's gaze her sapphire eyes snapped merrily as she executed a spin to check her friends approval.

"Beautiful Kassy, just beautiful...did shoes come with it because you know we don't wear the same size."

Kassandra stopped twirling at the question of shoes and suddenly blushed. She had no idea if she had shoes she could wear with such a lovely dress and started looking around the room to see if anything else had been left for her to find.

Jenna smiled as her friend twirled around showing her how the dress skirt flared, how it clung to her body like a second skin and again Jenna felt the pangs of jealousy. While Kassy searched to see if shoes had been left as well a sensual almost lustful gaze darken Jenna’s eyes. for in her hurry to try on the dress Kassandra had not bothered putting on any panties. God she was beautiful her radiant golden skin, her luxurious cascading chestnut hair. God how she hated the naïve little bitch.

“No Luck Hun? Well I guess you will have to be the bare footed countess tonight.”

Jenna linked her arm in Kassandra’s and led her from her room, and down to the dining room. Once Jenna made up her mind there was no stopping her. As the two young women entered all eyes went to Kassandra it was if Jenna did not even exist. Dr. Laslow rose from the head of the table and indicated that Jenna sit at his right hand while Kassandra was to sit opposite him at the foot of the table. To Laslow’s left was Crystal and on each side of the table there were six places each of the remaining team members took on e of the five remaining seats on the right and left side of the table. The two students next to Jenna served the meal and as she said it was steak, a baked potato and a fresh salad. Before each place was a glass of wine blood red rich and sensual in its color and bouquet. The steak medium rare succulent and juicy.

Dr. Laslow tasted the wine savored it and a smile bowed his lips.

“Excellent a marvelous choice.”

Jenna cooed, and gave Kassandra a conspirator smile.

Miss Bradley our intrepid explorer chose the wine Dr. Laslow.”

“To you Miss Bradley well done.”

He rose from his place and raised his glass in a toast to Kassandra and the others rose as well and drank to her choice which left the shy young beauty no option but to tip her head in acknowledgement and take a sip of her own wine. The taste was rich, sensual, and fruity a delight to the pallet hat spread a seductive warmth through her body.

The meal wore on with discussions of Kassandra’s adventures in the basement of Raven’s Rest, of the secret library full of ancient texts on the occult and the spiritualism of the 19th century. The evening and the meal seemed to drag by and Kassandra found her self nodding off at times only to jerk back up as she caught its and pieces of the conversation.

”Hun you look beat do you want to go up to bed Kassy?”

“No Luck Hun? Well I guess you will have to be the bare footed countess tonight.”

Kassandra laughed softly and linked her arm with Jenna's to go down to dinner. Once more she felt out of place. The other women were dressed much more provacatively than she was, even Jenna, and made her own dress look innocent next to their. She stood out like a sore thumb among all the black and crimsons of the others.

She let Jenna put her at the end of the table though she would have much rather sat next to her friend. She didn't know the girls she was seated next to and so for her dinner was a rather quiet affair. The food was excellant and the wine was delicious but it made her groggy and she couldn't keep her head up. She just wanted to sleep.

”Hun you look beat do you want to go up to bed Kassy?”

"I'm sorry to be such a drag on dinner but I think I should go up and get some sleep yes. It's been a more exciting day than I'm used to I'm afraid."

Rising from her chair she staggered slightly and had to grasp the edge of the table as the wine went to her head. Laughing softly at herself she shrugged slightly, "I'm not a drinker, I think that wine was a little too potent for me. Would someone please help me up to my room?"

Jenna and Dr. Laslow came to Kassandra’s assistance and helped the tipsy beauty to her room. They laid her on the bed, Jenna fanning her wild luxurious chestnut hair out on the pillow, and crossed the girls delicate hands over her flat abdomen. The pair stood there until the stunning young beauty’s breathing was deep and even as she succumbed to the drugged induced sleep.

“Jenna she is absolutely stunning you have chosen well my dear the Master will be pleased.”

Laslow lips bent to Jenna’s and he kissed her passionately his hands boldly and freely roaming over her body.

“Are you sure she is an innocent?”

Quite sure Sir

Jenna’s voice laced with passion a husky whisper as she smiled wickedly while the rest of the coven gathered around the bed where the drugged and helpless beauty slumbered. Each carried a black candle and Crystal handed one to Laslow and June a ravishing raven haired beauty handed one to Jenna. All other lights in the chamber where extinguished. Jenna and Crystal held the old tome that Kassandra had so lovingly carried from that dark chamber in the basement and he began to chant from it the others soon joining in the summoning spell.

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Darkness black velvet darkness enfolded Kassandra Bradley as she entered again that half world between waking and sleep. Slowly a vision began to from and envelope her, drawing the drugged young beauty deeper in to that realm of shadows.

Running, running through dark and twisted tunnels, the whispered, seductive call of the night wind

“Come, come to me, embrace the darkness.”

Unseen voices chanting, unseen hands caressing her and on she ran through the twisting velvet darkness to the door a door she now knew well even as she reached her hand to it, it opened in silent invitation to enter. The lamp, the books, and the book that lay upon the desk the image of the demon and the girl in white. As she reached to touch the book a flash of light and Kassandra was the girl in the demons passionate embrace his dark wings hovering over her his serpents tail curled around her supple young body his hot hellish breath washing over her. His lips bent to claim hers in a lewd searing kiss a kiss that demanded that she surrender to him. The harsh rasp of fabric parting as he draws a taloned claw down the front of her dress, her breasts bared to him.

Kassandra was grateful for Jenna and Dr. Laslow's help up the stairs, by the time she reached her bed she was nearly asleep but it never occured to her that there might have been more in her cup than wine. She gladly slimbed into the large bed and smiled a small, childlike, smile as she felt Jenna fanning her hair out around her and crossing her hands over her abdomen.

She never heard Dr. Laslow and Jenna's conversation or felt his kiss or the way his hands groped her pliant, sleeping body. She was already lost in drug induced dreams.

“Come, come to me, embrace the darkness.”

Kassandra ran down the tunnels in the dark until at last she saw something she knew, the door to the library in the basement! She wasn't sure if she was running away from or toward the voice she heard calling out to her. She didn't care she just needed to get out of the all consuming dark of the tunnels.

Entering the relative safety of a place she could understand - she adored books and there must be hundreds here - she smiled to find that same book she'd seen earlier lying open as if beckoning to her to come and read. Reaching out she fingered the picture gently and blinked at the sudden flash of light.

A scream filled her throat only to me muffled as the demon's lips laid claim to her own. She struggled against him, thrashing and jerking to try and free herself of his grasp. All she could do however was watch as one taloned hand came up and that sharp claw sliced through her dress baring her breasts to him. Quickly she tried to grab the tatters of her dress while still trying to break his grasp on her.
