Dear Lit Family.... I am choosing to share something very personal about my life and experiences. In doing so, I am opening both my heart and soul. Please treat them kindly with dignity and respect.

I am doing this with the encouragement of my family and friends, as I know, I am not the only one who has lived through trying, difficult times and my history is a part of who I am. Its what allows me to be the writer you have learned to know. My sharing this with you is so you have a better understanding of my point of view.

Your emotions are very much in evidence and they are wonderfully scripted. I applaud your courage in sticking with your convictions and willingness to share your thoughts and experiences with the world. Very brave indeed. I hope that people leaving feedback do so in a very responsive manner, as I know you enjoy meeting new people.

Well done and well said. You catch me by surprise with your growth, candor and maturity. Not only do I look forward to more of the same, but I am glad we are friends.

Billy, my heart goes out to you with the loss of your father, recently. And I am aware of the fact that as you grew, he was not so kind and fatherly. I'm both surprised and proud of the fact that you have taken on this ideal of sharing your intimate secret thoughts with us and your Lit family. I know they will leave with a new sense of your growth and desire to help others that have experienced similar hurts and pains as yours.

It reminds me of the words in that song that you like so well by Creed.

Life can hold you down
When you're not looking up

Although the names change
