Hey, so I'm still making trip plans and in my research I came across this website that offers discount gift certificates for restaurants. Basically, it's a marketing tool for restaurants. The site's legit - I double, triple and quadruple checked.

Anyway, I just purchased a $50 gift certificate for $20 but - here's the cool part - I also entered a promo code and got 80% off. So, my $50 certificate for a five star restaurant cost me $4.

Anyway, not sure about the advertising rules here (though I'm not advertising) but if I get the OK, I'll post the website and promo code for everyone. They have restaurant listings all over the US so you might be able to get a good deal at a place near you and have a nice night out for cheap!

So let me know if it's kosher and I'll put that info up, if anyone wants it.

Cheers - K

People have posted websites that provide grains of rice for starving people, and game sites, and lots of other stuff. Go for it. :D

Oh that sounds cool! Would you mind PM'ing it to me as well, I could use it for my trip to the US in September!

OK, I'll post here and then if my hand gets slapped I'll delete :)

The website is www.restaurant.com

The promo code you need to enter for 80% off is NAPKIN

Warning!

Do read the terms and conditions. I almost purchased 4 GC's for the same restaurant then read that only one can be used, per group, per visit, (even if you're sitting at different tables).

Taxes and gratuities are usually not included and sometimes alcoholic beverages aren't either, (though that wasn't the case for the place I'm going to). Also, you may have a minimum purchase, (for mine it was a minimum of two entrees, which is fine because that's what we'd be having anyway).

The certificates are good for 90 days from purchase. The restaurants range from fast food to five star. Vegas had lots of restaurants to choose from but I'm sure the numbers depend on the popularity of the destination.

*Also, don't sign up for the Free $25 Coupon form TrialPay, at the bottom of the page. It's just an advertisement and word is it's a scam and a pain in the ass to get out of.*

Anyway, I think this site's a great way to save money if you'd like to go out for a meal and for $4, even if something happens and I never use it, it's worth it.

Let me know if you find anything you can use on there!

If you are a member of the Border's Book Store Rewards program, they send promo codes out for this about once a week. Their offer is a $25 Coupon for $2. Similar terms --good for 2 people. [Use Border's code]

There may also be other ways to do this. This is obviously a "get you in the door" and hope you spend a lot on drinks and other extras. I'm sure it is good, otherwise reputable sites wouldn't participate.

Oh, my gosh. I worked at one of those restaurants once for a night. (They were packed and needed someone just on dishes). It took me A MONTH to get paid.
