Somebody say something encouraging.

The last couple months have been really s-l-o-w in terms of new threads, it seems. I've been trying to do my part to add new ones, but I've been tempted to go into lurk mode and hope things pick up.

What's up? Are all you northern hemisphere characters hiding, and all the southern ones out on the beach without your laptops?

Put Off

There is no question that I have been put off by the lack of any kind of effort by the site owners to do regular update. I mean 8 months is absurd! I have added almost 700 threads to this site, but I am having a hard time getting worked up about adding more as they are not supporting it. We cannot attract any new people when there is not even a link between the site and this board! We cannot keep new people interested if they cannot get their stories approved on at least a monthly basis. I cannot feel good about adding to the site when I don't know if it is just going to disappear one day with no explanation.

All I am looking for is someone to give us a little direction as to what is going on with the site and where it is going. I am happy to help by approving stories, or monitoring, or being a liaison, but there is no one to even make the offer too.

So in short while I continue to add occasionally when it strikes me I am having a hard time getting going due to the neglect of the site.

Well, I won't pretend I disagree with the way you feel.

What's the word from the Chyoo3 corner?

Well... I was thinking of coming back and contributing some more. Is that encouraging?

I owe some explanation for my absence, especially since I promised to approve threads that have sat unapproved for the past few months. Back around when I said I was coming back, I suddenly got a new job and moved out-of-state, with the result that I had no internet connection other than the one at work (and visiting sites such as CHYOO at work is rather frowned upon...) Therefore, I was forced into incommunicado.

But perhaps that will now change. I don't know whether I can get myself back into the CHYOO frame of mind, but I can at least approve the threads that are waiting and open up any stories I don't feel like watching over anymore.

"Something Encouraging," I said it, feel better?

I wish I had something better to say, but I have to agree with Jake. The lack of communication and updates puts me off too. I haven't had the drive to write anything in months. I am starting to wonder if Chyoo was just a phase I went through. I've found other things to do with my time. Things that are more rewarding and all. If Chyoo had moderators, and visitors that left feedback, and a real ratings system... then it might be better. I might get the urge to write something.

Lately most of my time is occupied by a blonde with blue eyes, who I am "Daddy" to.... and I don't mean the female kind either. NO I am not gay either. My son, Braxton is now 6 months old and requires a lot of Daddy's attention. A baby is a fulltime job.

anyway take care for now

ive always wondered...wouldnt literotica have some kind of communication with chyoo, since they are connected to eachother through the forums. If so, has anyone ever tried to get in touch with literotica people? I have private msged manu but he never wrote back... And about chyoo...i am in the process of making 3 different threads right now. I just completed one for the neighborhood and am working on another right now, i am still brainstorming on an idea for when the cat's away. And i am working on a thread for my story family relations. Sorry I dont do many threads, its hard keep my train of thought on the story and nothing else. DAMN ATTENTION DEFICIT DISORDER!! Still looking for someone to add to my story family relations btw :D And about people not knowing about this forum...we could do a email campaign and email all the people that add threads that we are unsure if they know about this or not.

I belive that Chyoo is a very interesting concept and I think that it has alot of potential. However, I can't justify spending my time writing stories for a site that I can't be sure will even exist in a couple of months. Until I start seeing a little more feedback from the people who run this site I don't intend to contribute anything else. Also, if Chyoo 3 ever gets finished I would willingly contribute to that.

Ofcourse, Why didn't we think of that?

Tim, you forget that heavy sarcasim does not come across well in written form. Seriously, this has been a problem so long that there are people who completly missed the whole last round of screaming and yelling that accomplished absolutly nothing for us.

I just wonder what is going on, if anything?

oh so that was sarcasm? didnt know...dont worry..im very sarcastic too..so im guessing it didnt go so pleasant. lol

This is something we haven't had in a while, a good ol' moaning thread! Well, here goes...

I haven't added in MONTHS. I check my stories at least wekly, but since I only have 1 approved story, my other ones just don't get the kind of exposure they need to start flowing. I got all excited when ofhabit came along spouting his CHYOO3 joy, but it seems that he has either got bored, waylaid or kidnapped, and no one else can take his place. I guess i would have preferred it if he hadn't even started.

Just kinda makes you want to weep into your keyboard.

Kipnapped Eh? Perhaps he was medling with things that are best left alone. Or was it, imposing on the Chyoo name and style. It sounds like he was silenced by the powers that govern Chyoo.

Ofhabit... where are you. If you are able to read this, rattle your chains loudly, maybe one of us will hear.

Your implying that powers exist that actually give a crap about Chyoo. It is hard to see any evidence of any one caring.

Ah but someone DOES care! They just take great joy in watching us get all pissed off and flustered! To quote a great film: "Damn you! Damn you all to hell!"*

* The views expressed on this post in no way reflect the views of Charlton Heston, any of the apes or indeed the planet they live on.

Ahhhhh someone finally gets it...the joys of twisted painful cries for help are often music to the ears of those whom do not care. Recall and remember all ye who know this to be true...Literotica the site makes money for its owners through all the links that readers may enjoy for paying sites...yet Chyoo itself has none of those, making the main site much much more valuable than its little spinoff counterpart. Therefore perhaps it should be thought that those whom would code say perhaps a link to this board...are concerned more with keep thier jobs and money by coding the Literotica site.

I remember that back in the day Chyoo use to have Advertisments too. I wonder how they explained that to the advertiser. Perhaps they took the ads and doubled them up on Lit. Or just lost money for not advertising on Chyoo?

I dont know if this has been answered or not...but if noone is watching it..how does it come back up when the website crashes??

It probably shares the database with the rest of Literotica, and the front end runs as a PHP application alongside the others (or just simple enough that it doesn't break -- PHP is supposed to be good about that). So when they restart/fix up the servers for the sake of Lit, Chyoo also gets fixed.

well if literotica does have the rights to do that...shouldnt they be able to update it too? (i know u probably talked about this before but im curious)

I guess that is the whole problem, it is a big mystery. No one from the site ever tells us what the heck is going on. That is the problem as far as I am concerned. If we just knew what was going on, even if it was nothing, at least we would know where we stood. I would sure like to know if they have any intention of ever doing anything with the site again.

I don't understand why it is not updated at least monthly; it can't be that tough to do. We will never attract new writers if they do not update the site once in a while.

yeah i know...if it is someone from lit...they should just give someone from here the rights to moderate it or something

Let's get recognition!!!!

WE NEED TO GET RECOGNIZED

:nana:

Maybe some of us should sign up to be moderators or volunteers of some sort for literotica (just to figure out how the system works) Maybe someone could get a bug into the ears of those in charge (or at least get their ear for conversation), then take the impetus to bring CHYOO "back to life; back to reality ... " ;)

I know we've tried everything else in the past ... flooding the lit boards with references to CHYOO ... everyone emailing Manu ... everyone emailing Laura (or whatever her name is) ... and so on! Frustration has always been there, and we've convinced ourselves to "bear with it" while the changes are being made, yet there continues to be NOTHING! And that is the most frustrating part of it all.

However, I will never let it deter me! I may go through spurts and sputters of litererary creativity, but I will not stop writing for CHYOO until it disappears ... I just wish more people would find it, and contribute!

Good plan. Will take a while to get that recognition in a huge site like lit. But we've been sitting waiting for a few years now, so a couple more shouldn't faze us.

(Slightly off topic: Thats how Dr Who and Star Trek came back. The kids who watched them in the sixties and seventies grew up to become TV executives).
