The Jump Start:
Protagonists are both contemplating divorce, realizing that their spark is missing. Unbeknownst to one protagonist, another is possessed and offers far superior sex to the usual. The next night, the other is possessed. The spark is rekindled.

#2:
Demon Lord:
An angel girl falls in love with a demon lord, insisting that he is the destined "Soul Saver." Despite his vicious treatment of her, she continues to follow him.
This idea was probably caused by watching too much anime wherein at least one character treats the other like crap until the last episodes despite the other character showing them a ton of love (e.g. Final Approach).

#3
Soulmates:
Main character wishes to find his soulmate and a genie or fortune teller tells who it is. (Optionally), soulmate also knows about this and/or makes same request. Then, two possible variations:
A) Story is about them knowing they are soulmates and trying to form a relationship.
B) Story is about main character gradually realizing that he is falling in love with someone else (which might be the fortune teller), or someone else realizing they are falling in love with the main character (that someone else might be the fortune teller).

#4
Time Capsule
A time capsule is unearthed centuries after it was buried. It's purpose is similar to modern day time capsules, but for the difference that one of the items contained therein is a slave, who wakes up.

#5
The One-way skeleton key:

Woman acquires a one way skeleton key, which can lock *anything* (e.g. it could lock someone's hands together or whatever) but things locked can only be unlocked by the two way skeleton key, in possession of the one who gave her the one way key. The locking is magical in nature, so any deterioration caused by such a lock would be avoided (e.g. locking one's mouth shut would negate the need to eat).

"It worked!"
Increasingly bizarre coincidences seem to be plaguing a woman's life, only to have her rescued by strange magic. The magical rescues precede a wizard teleporting in, seeing the results of the rescue, and exclaiming, "It worked. The [spell that saved the woman] worked!" Eventually, he realizes that his spell to find his soulmate caused the coincidences. I envision the man being interested in untargetted spells that work via coincidence, based on the fact that spells are normally targetted precisely as they are an exercise in the caster's will, and thus a spell is tougher to cast if it is not specific in its nature and target.

Encouragement:
While fantasizing about being spanked, a women suddenly starts getting spanked for real, despite the fact that she is in her room, alone. Soon, she finds herself being magically spanked every night, much to her sexual joy. All seems well, until she procrastinates instead of doing [stuff]. That night, she is spanked hard. She finds herself in a BDSM relationship, but she does not know the rules and her partner's only mechanism for communicating them is punishment. Her willingness increases over time, especially since the punishments are enabling her to accomplish goals which would have been more difficult without the encouragement. Over time, she even falls in love with her ghostly dom.

It's a good beginning, and has great potential, but there has to be a little something extra.
There's a movie called Maxie which was pretty much the reverse in the beginning (fell in love with the ghost), and brought them back together by the end.
Make the end justify the means, but with a twist.

Plot full of holes and as you noted, it's too anime.

Only one person should know who the soulmate is, and B is a better storyline, but Hollywood has plenty of these already.
Usually it's a heavenly story where some guy begs to the angels to get his girlfriend back, and he must be reincarnated to do it.
It can also be like this:
Elizabeth Hurley is The Devil, a drop-dead gorgeous temptress with a wicked sense of humor, in 20th Century Fox's Bedazzled - 2000.

That's already taken.
Encenoman
It also has a Planet Of The Apes feel.

2 words: Twilight Zone
2 more words: Outer Limits
You are definitely on the right track, and has great potential (especially if used in erotica), but I think there should be a greater storyline here, almost "Charmed"-like.

There's a movie that recently came out about a lucky son of a bitch who could do no wrong, but grew tired of his everlasting lucky streak with women.
He then fell in love with a jinx and was getting all her bad luck.
I imagine this is the kind of thing you mean.

Sweet.
I was thinking along the same lines, but I think spanking should not be the main focus, and other fetishes arise.
I thought she could have an identical twin separated at birth.
The 2nd twin finds out she can withstand pain better than most people and gain pleasure in things some people wouldn't find pleasurable, such as being prodded by a hot poker or laying naked on a bed of nails.
The 1st twin feels her sister's pain projected on her, just as she projects pleasure to her sister.

This pleasure out of pain relationship interferes in her real relationships.
Her latest boyfriend tries to track down the source of her strange feelings, and when he finds out what's happening, he wants a threesome, and phone sex actually becomes sex.
