What's the "Star of Penumbra"?

This is an extremely obscure reference to a very little known book; The Illithiad. Yes, that's spelled right; I don't mean The Iliad.

The Illithiad is an unsuccessful Second Edition Dungeons and Dragons supplement that details the biology and lifestyle of Illithids, also known as Mind Flayers, who are some of the most evil and powerful beings in the D&D multiverse.

Thier home planet, Penumbra, looks like a giant record or CD, with the star in the hole.
