A dose of the hit reality TV show and movie "Jackass" turned deadly for a local college student.
The Seneca County Sheriff's office said 18-year-old Tiffin freshman Adam Ports, of Wooster, died while performing a dangerous stunt from the film.
Officers said the freshman died from head injuries after performing the stunt with some friends.
Police believe that students in the back of the truck set a chair on fire using hairspray. They were apparently trying to throw the burning chair out of the truck when it took off unexpectedly and Ports slipped and fell hitting his head on the pavement, NewsChannel5 reported.
"If they're dumb enough to attempt it. I'd never try anything like that," move fan Josh Glepko said.
In a statement from MTV/Paramount, moviemakers expressed their condolences to the friends and family of Ports. "No matter how a tragedy occurs, it's especially horrible when a young person is involved. And that the police report filed makes it clear this incident has no connection to any stunts performed on the 'Jackass' TV show or film."
