This Laelia albidais blooming for the very first time since I've owned it

Mama insisted on this one. I forget what it's called.

Each of these blossoms is about a eighth of an inch long but look how many!

And a new, truly spectacular Laelia hybrid! Wow!

WOW! just beautiful. I agree with Hot mama-- you needed to have those sexy tiger-striped blooms (are they vanadia?)

Very pretty. :) Thanks a lot for posting.

I'm rubbish with outdoor plants, sadly.

I went out and checked. Those, hard as this may be to believe, are Miltonia! I never would have thought that Miltonia could be grown out doors but there they are . . .

So beautiful! I think the hybrid is my favorite. And congrats on the Laelia albidais! :) :rose:

We bought a "little" one of the Laeliacattleya. The specimen plant in the center (for auction, minimum bid $500) was about three feet across and had over 20 blooms on it. Ooooo . . . this is going to be innnnnnnnteresting.

I can't even imagine how much the ones I worked with when I was employed at a greeenhouse were worth. They had litterally hundreds of gorgeous blooms... but were the ugliest plant I ever saw.

Orchids are so sexy and what Georgia O' Keffe did with flowers is beyond sensual. Thanks for the trip to your garden.
