I am considering trying hot wax on my wife's nipples. I need a little help/advice?

Is there a certain brand of candles that are better for this then others, or are they pretty much all the same? I'm assuming they're sold in most adults store, but if they're sold elsewhere plaease let me know this also.

Thank Y/you E/everyone

We just buy ours at the supermarket....economical and great choice of colours. and those that come in their own holder can be handy.

We just bought cheap supermarket-type candles too and didn't think too much about it. Most wax melts around 50 degrees C.

I found that the easiest and least expensive way to control how hot the wax is, is by holding the candle higher or lower while dripping.

Yes, dear Catalina, but you are a Masochist!!!

LOL.

To the poster....

Try going to the kosher foods aisle of your friendly neighborhood grocery store. Buy the votive candles sold there that are sold for passover and the like. The wax in those candles has the lowest melting point of what you can buy in your local stores, and they are inexpensive. If you find out waxing is something ya'll collectively AREN'T into, no great amount of bucks lost.

oooh thankyou for the tips peeps. Good thread.
Are the ones that come in their own containers, those that are in a glass?

Thank Y/you for all the help. We'll probably be heading off to the store this weekend :D

There are also sites that sell wax candles for play. You want to get the low temp wax though. The little white candles that come in a box that you find in adult toy stores can truly burn you and are for pain sluts. Trust me on this. If you want to buy online, just do a search on low temp wax. There are several sites.

Thank you for this link, mg. Wax play is something I do want to try soon and even an "old" poster like me, found this to be helpful.

You're very welcome, ADR.

There was a wax demo at the litogether in Charlotte this spring. I'm trying to figure out how to put a wax pot on my Christmas list this year.

Try it on yourself before you try it on your sub. It's a very quick way of gaining much appreciation for what kind of pain it could cause.

Keeping a damp towel or something around might not be a bad idea either.

Say you're delicately dripping some near her pussy, and some wax touches her clit, she screams in pain and starts flailing, you drop the candle, and set the bed on fire... Just a cautionary thought.

I probably shouldn't be laughing this hard imagining that happening.

Two easy choices:

Wal-Mart offers two different paraffin "bath" devices that heat up paraffin which can be used for waxing, at ~$25 and $38 US. Each has thermostatic controls. The higher-priced one is a little larger and includes six pounds of paraffin and six "liners." The paraffin baths do, however, require that you "dip" into them with something to pour the wax on the subject, which can get a little messy, at least until you learn how to minimize the "fallout."

The other alternative is a little more pricey, but very popular with those I've seen who work with wax a lot: a good-quality 6-quart or larger slow cooker, with a variable temperature control (not three settings, but truly variable). They usually put their wax dispensing bottles in the slow cooker, then add water to near the top and turn it on. This provides a large quantity of wax available at a consistent temperature, and if the dispensing bottle you happen to be using gets a little too cool, you can put it back in the slow cooker to heat back up and use one of the others.

Either of these options can be put on a Christmas list without much explanation. For the paraffin baths, if there are any questions, just casually mention that your hands have been feeling stiff, especially in cold weather, and a friend swore that the paraffin bath does wonders for his/her arthritis. ;) The Wal-Mart description says: "provides heat therapy for healthier looking skin. It can also be used to help relieve pain caused by arthritis and chronic joint inflammation."

Despite the "light" tone of your post, "angel" eve, all of that is very good advice when doing waxing or fireplay. Incidentally, very few "heavy" waxers I've met use candles. They simply don't provide enough wax and there's the fire risk.

Edited to note that this is not in any way a criticism of those who do use candles. I've used them for light wax play, and seen very experienced waxers do likewise. For sessions where, for example, a pyl is pretty much covered with wax from collarbones to knees (or lower), however, candles simply aren't practical. That's when the dispensing jars and the large-quantity heating devices come in.

I've never gotten too heavy into wax play. But I did a fair bit of reading before I gave it a try.

Using wax that was already melted never really seemed like an enticing option though, I think I like the fire better. Hot wax just seemed MUCH safer than attempting fire play I'd only read about.

I need to get out there and start learning in the comunity... some things simply cannot be taught online.

I LOVE waxing ..People that is. Haven't even washed the car in over three months.

Good general tip...avoid Beeswax like the clap...The reason Beeswax is so beloved of candlemakers is that it has a stupidly high melting temp ..Well, that, and it burns so clean.

And while I haven't tried it myself I can pass along a recomendation of another (use at own risk now) The small gravy ladle the one that is double ended and sort of oval shaped is a good device for mass wax. (according to them)

Those religious candles you'll find in the grocery stores work great. I love for them to be poured all over me. All paraffin regular taper dinner candles work good to. We're working up to a crock pot full and ladeling different colors over me. Just remember the further away you hold it the less hot it will be. Depends on the area very much. No beezwax, they burn too hot.

A good online source is www.liquidfireinc.com. Great colors.

One might want to look for "shabbat" candles in the Jewish foods section of your local supermarket. Those are the pure paraffin candles.

Then one could stop in the sporting goods section of your local Wal Mart and pick up a nice sitletto. They're just great for removing wax.....:D

Nav, it's good to see you. A stiletto, huh? I see you're still a wicked man. LOL

We have one of those wax machines that folks can soak there hands in. Keeps the wax melted and ready at all times. Just remove the lid and I have a small scoop that I use and man it works great! What fun it can be..... Try and enjoy....:D

You can get a parafin wax pot at Bed Bath and Beyond for about thirty bucks...that way you know the wax won't burn you or your partner - never melt it in the crock pot  Also, emergency candles are a no-no since they use chemicals that make them melt at a high temp to make them last longer.

As with the others - the candles on the kosher or mexican food isles are perfect (but you might want to rewick them since the wicks are a little on the whimpy side lol)
