Some Help Here For WittyUserName

WittyUserName (who won 3rd place in the Summer Loving contest) has been trying to join AH, without any luck. Attempts to reach Laurel haven't worked. The AH mod link doesn't show when he's in here.
Having joined 13 years ago, I can't tell him what's going wrong. Can any of you, especially recent joins, help him out. He does have a story page set up

Can't join this specific forum? That sounds weird, unless there's a very specific ban in place.

One thing I've encountered is not being logged in. Just randomly not logged in. Usually all I need to do is refresh the page, or else click on a thread I've posted in. But today I had to click on the "Log In" button, which of course takes me to my author dashboard, and from there return to the forums. And even then I had to refresh the page.

Here is what he told me so far:

"I can't message a mod since I can't log in

When I go to the authors hangout, my username does not show up. I click 'log in' and it brings me to my writer's dashboard where all notifications come in. It's weird. And I have no way to reach out for help."

There are definitely some issues transferring cookies between literotica.com and forum.literotica.com domains. I notice is sometimes because I use the old forum theme, so if I get new white one I know it happened again.

Clicking AH forum page or a thread typically fixes it, though.

If the member can visit any forum page at all, they should be able to visit this forum. There is no distinction.

I'm not sure what is going on but what often happens to me is that I will log in and the forum index will still show me not logged in. Then sometimes if I refresh it will show me logged in, sometimes not, but if I click on a forum or subforum, then it displays me being in. So for me I know that it's nothing but a display glitch.

Maybe log in and then click around the forum a bit until it shows your user ID in the upper right? If not, then maybe he has a completely different issue.

He can visit. He can't log in to comment. I know I've had cookie problems in the past as others have described. But my registration is 13 years old. I don't know what the current system is or the problems. He's reading here so please keep the suggestions coming. He's mentioned he tried multiple browsers.

From his dashboard, have him click on Explore.
Right click on Forums and select Open Link in New Tab.
It will use his credentials from his homepage to log into the forum.

This sounds more like a tech (Manu) problem. Try contacting him.

All in all, it's probably some kind of desync between the Lit and forum accounts. They are fundamentally two different systems and databases, since the forum is using the XenForo software and of course the Literotica side is proprietary.

What seems like a likely cause, in case of WittyUserName, is that the former isn't properly linked up with the latter, and combined with the general janky way in which the transition is implemented it leads to that particular user having a bad(der) time.

Seconding Rustyoznail that contacting Manu is the best option.

Same, but it was for this side of Lit, not just AH.

I am usually shown as not logged in when I click from the story side to the forum side. I can click on "Author's Hangout" to get the specific forum and that alone usually fixes it. If it doesn't, then I reload the page.

I think there is a thread and advice on this specific problem. I just don't know where it is.

He's trying the solutions mentioned here. If no success, I'll open a support thread for him tomorrow. Perhaps Manu can help.

Lit isn't great at support. Too many issues.

I'm in! Laurel replied to my email and told me the issue was fixed. I'm not sure what the problem was, but I exist on the forum now. Thanks to everyone who helped!
