One thing I enjoyed reading once was a story which explored how even though two guys were identical twins one was the leader and one was the follower. This was set in a culture where twins were believed to have the same soul in two bodies and were called by the same name, and the twins' lover gave them each their own name. Then I read a different story where twins were believed to be bad luck and this guy who was a gambler had a thing for twins because of that. Another interesting angle might be twins or siblings who are best friends and terrified about being separated from each other by arranged marriages, so they connive to find someone who will marry them both.
