PYONGYANG, North Korea Fans threw bottles and chairs at match officials and visiting players on Wednesday after North Korea lost, 2-0, at home to Iran in a World Cup qualifying match.

In the other match on Wednesday in Asian Group B, Japan beat visiting Bahrain, 1-0, in Saitama.

The results meant that Iran moved to the top of the four-team group with seven points from three matches. Japan climbed to second with six points, while Bahrain slid to third on four. North Korea stayed in last place with no points.
