Software fail? Couldn't delete a draft

I submitted a story titled Little Bit. While it was pending, BEFORE it was approved, I deleted it and submitted an updated, enhanced version.
But the 3 or 4 attempts I made to delete the draft had no effect. The crap version got posted a few hours ago. The better version is still pending approval.

a) what do I do now to fix the problem?

b) anyone else experience anything similar?

Submit your wanted version with exactly the same title as the first versions, plus the word EDIT. Add a Note to the Editor explaining what has happened, why you're doing it. Edits take longer to process, so be patient.

I suspect your problem was multiple drafts - you somehow managed to get the first one through. Usually, if you open up a pending story, it gets released from the processing queue until you hit the Submit button again. Somehow, that didn't happen.

Probably best to delete any draft version you have in the system, before starting over as an Edit.
