Soft Swap Stories

So I have noticed the lack of soft swap stories on here and I was wondering if anyone would be interested in more of them floating around? Is the low number of stories due to lack of interest in the subject or is it just not a lot of authors covering this topic? I was thinking about writing 1 or 2 but wanted to make sure that there was sufficient interest in it before I attempted it.

Soft Swap is where 2 couples get together with the intention of doing everything short of penetration. In many cases these situations go too far and end in penetration anyway. Usually they just involve oral and use of hands. They are very erotic situations to describe due to the fact that they normally involve couples who are reluctant to go all the way in the first place.

Well I have read a few of them on here and they are generally good. They work up to a very erotic ending. The works I have read that involve soft swap have been huge turns ons for me. The reluctance of the couples to actually engage in swinging to start with leading up to the eventual breakdown of the walls and deepest need to be with their "soft swap" partner shows how deeply the human psyche needs sexual satisfaction after a certain point.

A decent story teller can definitely make the story of a game of tag sound interesting.

Just like a poor story teller can make hte most interesting premise sound bad.

I for one think this is a great idea. As you said, it does sound boring, but in the mindset of a story, so does mutual masturbation.

This is a good theme for a orgy story when the couples go "too far", but also for one where the couples don't share but are simply inches away from each other, and the writing can make the reader bridge the unwritten gap. The couples can go their separate ways knowing they didn't 'cheat' while still getting a mental rush from the light playtime and visuals they gave and received.

I have a few stories in permanent-draft mode like this, but my muse hates me a lot, so I can't ever get them done (among dozens of other ideas)

Put your ideas out here. I've seen plenty of threads running with it - giving all kinds of potential story lines, conflicts between characters, potential motivations for their actions, etc. May give you just the right idea (and gives us the joy of dumping ideas)

I think this is a great idea as well and can be extremely erotic. Years ago, I read a story very similar to this and while it did stop before penetration it was probably the hottest story I ever read. Unfortunately, I lost the story and do not recall where I saws it.

A story can stop at any point, some of the best leave the reader on the edge of a cliff.

That is unfortunately true, but the site is Literotica not Literhardcoreonly. I do think there is room for all types of stories, as long as they are adequately described, and there's not a bait and switch. Though some will hate any story that does not fit what the reader thinks it should be.

You kinda have to bait and switch, I don't know how many characters are allowed in the discription line but it's basically one sentence. I'm often times frustrated because I can't say anything to make it stand out while still covering the basics.

And yes it is lithardcore only, thats why the readers punish you if you don't deliver. Nobody needs to put that in the name.

Of course if you are sufficiently good they will love you regardless so I wouldn't let that stop you if you think you've got a good story. I would just highly reccommend putting on your galoshes because it's gonna get rather deep on this one. I don't mind wading around I'm just giving you a heads up.

As I said originally I don't dislike the idea, I just think it stops a little short for my general tastes but I read lots of stuff and often find fun stuff that would never have expected.

I think the inherent value of a soft-swap story is that it sets up a TABOO for the reader (and the characters) to think about, and wonder if it can be violated.

Nothing more boring than a story (or a situation in real life) where anything goes; in that case, there's no drama or wonder left in the world.

Well I am a good ways into the story now. I think I found a way to satisfy both sides of the street on this one. Penetration between the couples is still allowed in soft swapping. So I think that can be used to satisfy the "its not a good story without penetration" camp.

I enjoy the soft-swap concept quite a bit, in part because I harbor such fantasies. There's something about the reluctance, which so often masks true desires, that turns me on tremendously. And who among us hasn't set lines only to cross them because it feels so damn good to do so?

So, Jamie, I say go for it. You'd certainly have a reader here.
