Sofia and the Sultan's Harem a closed thread for unspoilt_princess and cgraven read along and enjoy.
Hyrum Dorset was in his mid-fifties and had been a widower sense his wife had parched in an explosion at his aviation factory. His daughter Gwen had escaped with only minor injuries. Hyrum had nor been as lucky he had suffered serious injuries and the loose of sight in his right eyes. His face bore the scare of that explosion and wore an eyepatch. His scares had held him back from any romantic involvements. Gwen had tried to convince her father that his scares were not a barrier to romance, he smiled and simply would kiss her on the forehead.
Gwen was a vivacious young redhead with a bigluing smile and vibrant green eyes. She had just graduated from Mrs. Smith Academy for young ladies. The school’s title may have been a bit misleading for it was not a finishing school but a school that took the young ladies academic education quite seriously. Hyrum had received a cablegram from his daughter Gwen saying she would be arriving on Saturday and she was bring a school chum Sofia. Hyrum could not help but wonder what Gwen’s friend would be like. He was looking forward to having the laugher of young woman echoing through the house, it had been to long sense laughter filled the house.
Saturday morning dawn bright and sunny and the drive to the aerodrome was refreshing. Hyrum stood on the apron by the terminal and shaded his eyes as he search the airship that was bringing Gwen and her fried home to Dayton from Hartford. He saw the smudge of smoke on the horizon, a smile bowed his lips as he knew that smudge heralded the arrival SS Navision. Hyrum watched the four stack liner drift closer to the mooring pylons. He watch the liner slowly descend, made fast to the pylons, the gangplank lowered. As the passengers began to descend the gangplank he scanned the debarking passengers for Gwen and her friend. When he saw Gwen, he waved.
