Does Donald plan on stocking up the bunkers with fresh food, and throw out those 1950's rations?

why the army couldn't be mobilised to make sure the fresh produce gets to places it's needed is beyond me. good food rotting or being disposed of while people queue at food banks and worry about feeding their kids :devil:

New York initiated that last week. Perhaps someone should tell Trump he's being upstaged and outperformed again.
 
Where does food come from?

At first glance many of the fresh young minds coming out of the government run education system probably assume that food comes from McDonalds or Walmart. But in reality most food comes from farms. Under communism the farms belong to the government and like anything run by government they do not produce well. That is what caused the victims of the communist party in China to be forced into eating bat shit soup and other crap at "wet markets."

The POTUS is not interested in the government owning the farms. He just realizes that if the farmers go broke then the food chain is interrupted and millions around the world would starve to death. You see he is a business man and realizes that food does not come from McDonalds.

Farmers have contracts that provide the food ingredients for places like McDonalds. With their businesses seriously minimized or totally close the demand on those contracts dries up. So rather than waste the food or dump it there is an effort to purchases it. Not an effort to set up communist state run farms.

I really could not follow the logic in the OP but I thought I would offer this just in case it clears up the confusion a little.
