Despite predictions of disaster after Malcom Glaser took over Manchester United, the Red Devils won the English Premier League title.

Man U won its first English Premier League title since 2003 without kicking a ball Sunday because Chelsea was held to a 1-1 tie at Arsenal.

Man U, which beat Manchester City 1-0 Saturday, has 88 points. Chelsea is second with 81 points with two games [six points] left. The two play each other at Stamford Bridge [Chelsea home] on Wednesday.

MAN UTD CHAMPIONS!

despite Glazer (ticket prices are going up next season to pay for his blummin' debts)

I'm so proud of my boys, thery've played their hearts out all season. The grit and determination they have shown has been awe inspiring. I can't wait for Wednesday -I totallyexpect Manchester United to win that one now :D

The FA cup final (Man U vs Chelsea) is going to be a cracker -what an exciting season! So many wonderful football games all through it and I wasactually there live to witness some of them *happy sighs*

*Ahem*.........it's not a 'tie'......it's a draw in soccer.

Just a little nit-pick.

And it's not soccer, it's football.

*at top of voice*

Whatever will be will be,

we're going to wembley,

Que sera sera!!

*waves arms in the air*

Mourinho are you Listening
You better keep our trophy glistening
we'll be back on wednesday
to take it away
walking in a Fergie Wonderland!

I could go on, but I'll spare you all that *L*

When I was just a little boy
I asked my mother `What should I be?'
`Should I be Chelsea?
Should I be Leeds?'
Here's what she said to me:
`Wash your mouth out son
And go get your father's gun
And shoot the Chelsea scum
Shoot the Chelsea scum'

And the other, singable at all grounds and guaranteed response 'specially all-seaters with nit-picky stewards. ( to the tune of 'Go West')

Stand up if you hate Man. U
Stand up if you hate Man. U
Stand up if you hate Man. U
Stand up if you hate Man. U

God help the rest of the Premier League when Rooney & Ronaldo become mature and experienced players! I can see a team built around these two going on to take the step to the next level - multiple European cup final victories.

A young squad did better than I had dreamed during the summer, a squad still with a few gaps in it, going on to win the league, destroying Roma, FA Cup final still to be played.

Man U did very well this year. However, you have to factor in the injury situation at Chelsea. It will be interesting to see the play next year with Man U, Chelsea, Liverpool and perhaps Arsenal battling for the championship.

Eh, they still got their asses handed to them in the Champion's League by Milan.

Not unless they all get demoted for irregularities. They will be battling for the Premiership (or rather for who has the most money)

I stand corrected. However, if it is just for who has the most money, Chelsea wins it.

Granted -we did not play our best that night in Milan, though the week before when we beat 'em 3-2 was classicly good Man Utd.

You might just see a preview of next season when Man U and Chelsea meet for the FA championship.

United had as many injury problems as Chelsea. At one point I think they unbelievably had seven of their nine first team squad defendars unavailable for selection, including the captain for an extended period. Other key players, primarily forwards, have spent months in the treatment room throughout the season.

Next season will be difficult to call between United and Chelsea. Liverpool and Arsenal have to improve drastically to keep up over the whole 38 games.

If you look at Liverpool in the Premier League, they are not all that impressive, although they did knock Chelsea out of the Premiership. However, the men in red have done quite well in Europe.

Do you guys even realise that the Spanish League is waaaay better than the EPL? And that Barcelona is a better team in terms of entertainment and glamour than most of the EPL teams combined?

EPL is the best football in the world, at least I believe so. I've never been overly impressed with spanis and/or italian league are up to much, really.

Completely agree.

I don't like the Italian league either but think of the Spanish League this way...

Every team there is capable of playing "football" i.e., they can carve any defense wide open with their one touch passing whereas in the EPL, it's all about brute force and the long ball. You want examples? How 'bout Bolton, Everton, even Chelsea and Liverpool for that matter? Those are the teams competing in Europe next season!

Oh boy, if my Huband aw you say that, he'd explode -he's an Everton fan, you see and since loosing Duncan Ferguson they've not done that at all -they're quite dependant on their wingers these days.

But that's the beauty -there are so many different types of teams, approaches and players over here -you never know what to expect!

I didn't mean to offend anyone but what I'm saying is even today, majority of the EPL teams play that style of football that's a throw back to the late 70-ish era of the English style - Kick the ball up-field and swarm around it.
