So, I send in a story, it's 'pending' what's the procedure here at Lit. who reads it and approves it, does that someone give it a 'HOT' rating if they deem it worthy?

I'm not exactly sure who reads and approves it but the eaders deem it "HOT", after so many votes if it's a 4.5 or higher it's given the H. hope this helps.

My Stories

From what I have been led to believe, it is Laurel, who actually reads the stories, and posts them. Which explains the 'Message' field for a comment to her, that accompanies the story. ;)

When the story gets 10 votes, if the score is 4.5 or above, it is automatically awarded an 'H' for 'Hot!'

Once past the 10 votes, raising to 4.5 incurs the 'H' while falling below 4.5 removes the 'H' automatically.

I do believe it is Laurel who awards the 'E' for good writing. But, I am not speaking from any experience, here. :(

That is why it may take - depending upon submission method and submissions activity - from three days to one week. It appears that Laurel believes she should actually have a Life

Jenna,

I think Laurel's been taking a little longer recently - she's a busy woman! When I started submitting my stories were accepted within a couple of days, but it's been more recently. Don't take it personally. Sit tight, it'll happen.

Perhaps she should get some help? I like the idea of a bevy of beautiful women gathered in a room reading erotic stories allday:p

I shall be patient..

I just want to give back some of the pleasure that the stories I have read here have given me :)

I don't envy Laurel's job... reading endless stories and being in the constant state of arrousal all the time... it has to be tough <wink> :) No doubt she gets LOTS of submissions...

I dunno, Quasi. When "The Ice Cream Cone" came out, it got a 5 almost immediately, and every single piece of feedback I got was positive, and now it has 11 votes and views, and is at around 4.62, but I never saw an H rating on it at any time, although the H rating for "Survival, Chapter II" came and went and came back again.

I just checked Slick Tony, it's got an 'H'. Maybe the updates happen differently for the h's. Who knows?

Hot damn, so it does! I'm kvelling!

Weren't the Kvell a race of super intelligent aliens?

The Kvell built a giant machine that could produce anything they imagined. As a result, the Kvell wiped themselves out, because they imagined their greatest fears.

This 'Monsters from the Id' was the mysterious killer in one of the few 'A' budget Science Fiction movies of the 1950's, "Forbidden Planet."

In case the plot sounds familiar, it should. It is Shakespeare's "The Tempest" adapted to space!

Okay! Okay! So, it was The Krell. So, sue me!
