I really didn't know a site like this existed until one of the writers I mentor sent me a link along with her manuscript. Generally, this isn't my genre of writing. I'm mostly known for the standalone novels I write, which some of my readers would refer to as 'slice of life' books. I took a look around and I like the rating and review system that this site carries. Its similar to a couple of other forums I moderate. While I don't have much time between my job and working on revisions my editor has requested for my current manuscript, I'll be sure to post something here eventually.

On the off chance that you actually are, by some internet miracle, Tom Wolfe of Bonfire and EKAMAT fame, welcome! I'm a big fan.

And we don't have any Updikes or Mailers here, we do have people with half the talent and twice the ego that would be more than happy to spat with you. :)

And some that have twice the talent and half the ego.

Welcome in any case.

Please do not encourage spatting. It gets awfully messy around here and I have new shoes. :cathappy:

A welcome  for the little newbie from the good little witch.

Stick around, you can learn a lot from PILOT. I mean, talk about the right stuff!

I must say that you had me scratching my head at the suggestion that there are folks with twice the ego of either Updike or Mailer.

They're everywhere. ;)

Meanwhile, this Tom Wolfe gives a birthdate of November 30 in his profile. The (in)famous Tom Wolfe was born on March 2. Thus, two possibilities:

1) They're not the same; or
2) Somebody is lying.

That or they are trying to trick you into thinking they are lying or not the same person. :D

The guy from Asheville had shifty eyes, so the jury is out on those options.

That's the defacto Lit birthday if you don't change it.

TX,

A couple of people commented on my writing style when I first joined, saying that I embodied everything about a Sagittarius, the astrological sign for November 30th. Except, of course, that I am a Gemini and was simply too lazy and private to add my real birthday at first. :D

Well I'll be danged. I am a Sagittarius and no one ever told me that. (My birthday is not November 30th either.) Of course, I would actually have to have a writing style for anyone to notice.

Tom Wolfe is my pseudo for this particular site. As I mentioned before, most of my writing falls under the genre of coming of age or 'slice of life' books, which is mostly young adult. However, neither my literary agent or my publishing house deal in erotica. There's a few side projects that I've had the desire to write for a while now, but never had the time like what will be allotted to me in the following weeks to do as such. Literotica seems as good of a place short of self-publishing to put my work for other people's enjoyment.

Maybe you don't court the new-age, old-school, star-crossed, clenched-knees, audience as heavily as I do, Tx. ;)

Also, I find it odd that I, relative noob that I am, know this when others don't.

No I'm more into the old-age and retirement home crowd. :D

Ah, I see T_W returned to straighten out the identity crisis. Not his but some of the others around here. :D

Identity crises? We don't have any of those around here.

Oh, wait . . . crap. Wrong account.

Hey, wait? There are folks who give their real birthdate? (That's why I give a little laugh when birthday greeting threads are intiated.)
