And I'm not liking it very much.

Not until someone who has spent entirely too much of his life near small arms fire gets a hearing aid.

Perhaps you should get some ear plugs? (when he's got the tv going and I'm not on my laptop, I pull on the headphones and crank up the tunes)

Huh? Wha'd ya say? I din't hear ya. I was trying to listen to this show. Geez...hold it down will ya?

If you have a transvestite in your room, I say make the most of it or kick him/her out.

I know how you feel.
bigrednz tries to turn the tv up louder than
the noise coming from his Mum's tv two rooms away.

I need head phones stat.

Someone needs to invent TV's with cordless headsets so each person can adjust the volume to their own preference.

TV short for transvestite. I'm up on these terms. Don't ask me why.

on a more practical note

They have invented wireless headphones LOL (they are an infrared system). My dad has hearing loss and won't admit it. Cranks the HELL out of the TV. Will, however, wear the headphones. Go figure. Couldn't tell ya where they got em' though LOL.

Least you can hear yourself think in the house now when you go visit.

I have a set of cordless headsets for the TV (or anything else that uses a mini-stereo jack). I haven't used it for about five years or so.

Mine came from Radio Shack. As far as I know, they still sell them. I've also seen them at an "AsSeenOnTV" store.
