I have had this idea bouncing around in my head for a while. I have decided to try to start a role palying rpg based with more with an anime type flare.

It is set in 2300 and the world has advanced to a higher level of technology, however unlike most beliefs, space travel has not yet been brought to be a common place thing but is done more frequently and he moon has been colonised.

The world is ruled by the people and corrupt governments are a rememberance of a past. Robots and mechanoids have almost human like intelligence but they live with the people. They work and live as normal humans do and they even eat.

The story is centered around the Tech Mex company. They have singled 2 employees to be sent on a trip to moon. But things go wrong from there and during an eclipse they are sucked into a black hole that transports them to a palnet not unlike earth. Infact almost identical except that people here are a little wierd.

They all seem to resemble the crazy wacky characters that would be featured in animes. Here they must try to live with in this society, but here people have no inhibitions..anything is possible.

The citizens of Xanin(the new planet) are all in to BDSM and all the women are dominated by the men. In some rare cases it is the other way around.

These space misfits have to learn to adjust and fit in.

Personally i'm tired of the brainless emotionally overstraught women who rely entirely on men to give their lives meaning as depicted in alot of anime.

maybe i should play a character who does nothing but kick ass and try to add some recognition of womens equality on this world.

I'm not worried about their dispositions, I'm worried about the message it sends to aboys and girls.
That women are willing submissive creatures that need men to fill their emotional needs. And that they can't be as every bit as smart and as powerful as their male counterparts.
Plus their is the whole physical imagery, little girl faces and full womans bodies. Thus saying that the Lolita style girl is the symbol of female sexuality.
And if you sayanime doesnt affect peoples perceptions you are wrong. it has a huge culture unto itself, and every major influence on pop culture has an influence on society.
Is it too much to ask for a woman to be her own person?

Anime girls

Women have the same right as men, In Anime there tend to be some refences to the girl being weeker and then men stronger, but remember Anime, Manga and Hentai are all different, look at Project A-ko in that the women are the main part of the Anime, There are also different type of men, so what if they think School girls love sex or getting fuck by things, as long as the dont go off and comite crimes or rape girls then thats fine, you have to think of it like then there fine, if men do that then there thinking Anime is real.

yes, i understand that. But its the mindset that carries on. I'm going to try avoid sounding stereotypical, but the japanese social culture still is highly patriarchal and a woman is supposed to "know her place". All this anime merely goes to reinforce that belief. and while yes, i believe there are SOME anime that depicts women as real people instead of stereotypes in the majority it doesnt. Then again the same case can be said about most contemporary pop film; blondes are good brunettes are evil.

I am a very sexually active woman myself, and yes i have gotten into some bondage in the past. Does that imply i am empty headed and need a man? i represent the broad category of actual women who exsist in the world outside of anime. i would like to see a story written about a woman, not a males idea of a toy.

Plus have you seen hentai? Are you telling me the women in that are acuarately portrayed.?

50 years ago rape wasn't reported very often, not because it didnt happen but because women were supposed to know their place and it only happened to those who deserved it, not to mention that we exsisted in a stronger patrarchal society. Can you say the same images broadcast through a strong patriarchal society arent causing the same results?

I know of one Anime that contains none of that. It actually has a girl calling the shots and is very cool. It's called Revolutionary Girl Utena. She decided when she was young that she wanted to be a prince and she becomes that. Check it out. Pretty cool actually. I'm not a huge anime fan because of the same reasons as you but this movie is cool.

Women

The japanise portry school girls and other such things to there sexual desires, they know they cant go out and have a 15 year old school girl, now the japanise have a wild imagenation and they like Robots and Meka's. Now with there imadgenation of monsters the orgianl people who draw manga and anime like to keep it clean, but because hentai companies havea market and people keep buying them they produce more and more every day or month

Now with the hair colour of women and men. they like to have the blonde hair its like a sign of something super and that, i mean look at Dragonball Z, most of them have black hair but when Goku and that transform they show there hair going blonde, i dont know why they have the bad guys or gals haveing burrnete maybe its a sign that they might be more powerfull or have an addiction to takeing over the world, but who knows

Well, she doesn't really call the shots but it is interesting. Yes, there is a bit of small minded stuff in there like the Rose Bride Anthy, whom is treated like a slave by others. But when Utena wins her hand and becomes engaged to her she tries to get her to become a normal girl and drop being the rose bride. She does start a revolution I believe because she is the first female duelist. I have yet to see the movie though, I'm waiting on my girlfriend to be here so we can see it together. I have however watched 6 episodes. It just seems like there is a lot more equality in it.

Princess Mononoke also has women on a more even kilt. Trust me, I know about feminism and equality and such. I am after all a lesbian

The real reason they 'keep it clean" is that Japan has some of the toughest blue laws on the planet. notice how there isnt actual penetration in anime, or the penis isn't realistically portrayed.
The women arent so protected. You just can have men show their private parts, take the case of bukkake ( how do i know so much, i've studied comparative sexul cultures at univ), girls get covered in the stuff, but the penises are cleverly blacked out.

As for the hair colour thing, i was making a refernce to north america, but I guess the same still stands with anime. Blonde is universal for good and light, i've been to kyoto and wandered into a buysiness bar. Busty blonde hostesses lounging around plder japanese businessmen. Just like they do the world over for every nationality. but what i had to notice strangely was that the girls were ALL BLONDE. i was the only brunette chick in the place.


once again, i hope I'm not being stereotypical. i just think reality should intrude on such a mainstream phoenomena, it did on TV..married couples dont sleep in seperate beds despite what I Love Lucy and the Dick van Dyke show told us.
