I'm not complaining about the 2 days I've waited so far. It's great that this site is moderated.

I'm just here to say it's crazy how loooooooooooooong a relatively short wait feels when you're excited to share your next story :)

It's like I'm hopping from foot to foot and refreshing every half hour.

I should go read some other stories.

I know, but it will wear off by the time you submit your 29th story. You'll just start writing the next one and your story will post when it posts.

I was the same way when I started.

There's only one submissions editor processing more than a hundred entries a day, every day of the year.

In the mainstream, you'd await nine months or more from acceptance to publication.

The OP wasn’t, as you imply, making a complaint. Far from it. They were merely saying how eager they are to see their story published.

A pending haiku:

Checked punctuation,
Pretty sure about those tags,
Praise be to Laurel!

I'm sure the OP needed you as a babysitter. I've found that just about any time someone opens with "I'm not complaining, but . . ." they are, in fact, complaining.

Two days? Lucky you. I have posted about this same issue, and I have had no resolution yet. I tried three times to post a new story, but each time it was kept in pending mode for weeks. I deleted it each time, thinking there was an issue. I am now onto my fourth time when I posted just before Christmas, still waiting.

Disappointing since in the past, there was normally a three-day wait to either get it sent back or accepted in the past. I am on a writing buzz recently too, but do not want to write new chapters to my stories if they will never get published.

I only worry about it until it has a publication date, and then the angst fades and the anticipation begins.

Read some other stories -- or go on and start your next.
