So now I'm unable to suck or blow.

It will only get better with time.

Wait, that's time and rum ... lots and lots of rum ;)

Hope your feeling better soon :rose:

Reading your posts make me oh so glad I got this over with in junior high.

My heart goes out to you. :rose:

I feel for you Sarahh :(

1 Tblspn Sugar
1 Dash of Cloves
3 oz Irish Whiskey
1 Squeeze of lemon
In a tall cup. Fill with hot water.

Take two and call me in the morning

I had adult ortho too - just got my braces off a year ago in May. I know all the pain and suffering you're going through. Wish I could tell you it gets better but, well, it doesn't.
Straight teeth are worth it though. :rose:

Nothing to add but sympathy.
Maybe we should start an AH collection to keep up the rum supply.

I remember those rubber spacers. I remember those medieval metal devices. I remember the pain. When I did it the torturers took some time - smaller spacer to bigger. My mother told me her back in the day story when she traveled a couple of hours to the orthodontist and got the whole set of braces, top and bottom, put on in one day - I can't imagine. Hang in there.

Thanks, carson. I really helps to just bitch about it at times, doesn't it?

But I'll take that last part to heart.

:rose:
I so feel your pain. Just wait till you have to wear rubber bands! I woke up in the middle of the night screaming with pain. I got mine all on in one day too, after two weeks of spacers.

But the day you get them off and your teeth are all shiny and slippery is the best day ever!

When I had my braces and the pain was unbearable I used to rub a little Brandy into the gum above the tooth or teeth that were hurting - Still love the taste of Brandy lol

It will all be worth it in the end. :D

So what you are telling me is I need to bring a 1.75 up to T-Land next time I come visit?

when I first read this title, I was certain it was a wisdom tooth thread or dry socket. I had a dry socket for 8 weeks . . .no sucking, blowing or existing with out pian.
I want braces so my jaw will quit locking, but you are scaring me.

You have my heartfelt sympathies, sarahh. :rose:

I, too had that pain-filled experience in the midst of the already difficult teen years.

The teasing and "brace-face" comments added to the indignities.

To top it off, the idiot orthodontist never pulled the impacted wisdom teeth that were causing the problem by growing sideways. Result, crooked teeth again in two years.

Oh well, at least they're healthy.

Good luck and the beautiful smile will be worth the discomfort. ;)

Thank you. :rose:

Luckily my ortho and my dentist are collaborating over me.

Apparently I'm a special case.

You make my life way to easy....... :D
