When I first saw this art I went wild trying to find it on a poster.. Sadly, the artist sold about half a dozen of them at a Con and those are the only ones in existence.

Is that Alex Ross's work? Beautiful, at any rate. If you've read "Kingdom Come", that piece makes perfect sense.

Doc, I love ya like a brother, but Amalgam aside (Far to the side, please... yech!), DC and Marvel don't mix, meet or cross much. Last time they did, Bats and Cap kicked each other's asses. Bats is faster, a bit tougher, and trained in ficticious martial arts forms that don't even have names. Cap is an old soldier who can fight dirty, but prefers not to. The difference maker in that fight was Cap's shield. Cap's enhanced musculature makes him about as strong as Batman, when Batman has a nasty head cold.

Other pieces of comic fandom to bear in mind for your idea: Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, was a soldier in WWII, with all the machismo and warped ideas about "alternative sexuality" that comes with growing up in that era. He was frozen in a block of ice for decades, so for him, not a lot of time has passed. He's a pretty cool and open-minded guy, but I imagine, based on the way he's written these days, he woudn't be interested in Batman's ass in your story, though he would be understanding of someone who was.
