Not looking for sex in and of itself...It would be nice to have just that one 'somone' that you could count on to be here for you everyday..to share different things with...but so far I have been pretty darn unlucky in that department too...hmm I think I should step back and take a look at why I am here...

20 years of marriage, never left "alone" but always left lonely. I don't seem to have that problem now. Now I am alone and am never lonely any more, (booze or not).

I agree that the holidays are the worst..but I surround myself with tons of decorations. And I don't ever worry about Valentines day..have never gotten anything for that day so it's just another day of the week for me.

Yes, the holidays...........I try to avoid public places, especially when I am down. It just brings me down even further to see couples during christmas and valentines day when I am single.
I've been a loner for many years. I've had girlfriends before, but I am used to doing things alone. Going to the movies, going out to eat? Bowling alone? Just about everything.
One day at Ruby Tuesdays, I was being seated and the Waitress asked me if I minded eating alone? I don't know if she was into me or just thought of me as weird since I was eating alone. I was very confused at the moment.
But having someone to share your time with is always memorable and more enjoyable.....most of the time.

The holidays do add to that lonesome feeling, thinking about
all the people who do have the special someone to share those
days with, not looking forward to Christmas much, myself.
But like Icey, I also do the decorations thing and cook up a

But I offen think... am I alone or am I lonely. Yes I believe there is a difference. I have some friends and a close family. My son thinks I'm awesome (he's only 10) so I guess I'm not alone but lonely for someone to love, someone to spend time with or maybe I'm alone but not lonely ...damn talk about confusing... no wonder I work so damn much! lol

I am alone, but never lonely. But then I have plenty of friends, both online and off. So it is not a problem. I enjoy the holidays to a certain extent but they can be trying on anyone the way things are today.

My situation is rather strange. I am still married, but live a separated life in a part of the house we share.
I'm not lonely for lack of people around, but lonely for physical affection and sex. The holidays usually affect me much the same as you have already mentioned. I'll manage as I usually do.
I'll just keep my self busy doing things so I don't have time to think about things!
