Lotsa Americans headed to Canada.

I cant wait to see them take it over, and what they do to the place.

There are about 240,000 Canadian citizens of US origin.
There are about 800,000 US citizens of Canadian origin.

I always wonder, if America is so horrible, why do more of them come here, then we go there?

Not sure how? It is not that easy to come here. You cannot just come across the border and buy a house.

I don't really understand why Canada and USA make it so hard to switch sides.
It's not like we're the Koreas.
I almost married a girl from Northern Ontario. If we hadn't fucked it up, the border bullshit sure would've.

It has been going on for years.

My own French-Canadian family on both my father and mother's side migrated back and forth both ways for employment and opportunity.

I'm Canadian and one of my great-grandfathers on my dad's side was in the US civil war.

On my mom's side I think my own grandfather may have been born in the US but married and had a farm in Quebec. His sisters lived in Massachusetts. I have distant cousins there.

On my one block here in Vancouver B.C. I have four neighbours who were U.S.born and immigrated here as young adults. None of them was a draft dodger. They just thought Canada looked like a better place in the 1960s and 70s.

We did about a 1000 pages of paperwork. Paid the big fees. Got finger printed, FBI background check, medical check. It took about 2 years. Things were at a standstill. We had to contact our local rep, to get things moving.

Moving my belongings across the border, was a whole different pain in the ass.

The girl I didn't marry ended up with a guy from Indiana. Her first hubby was originally from Ohio.
They had kids in Canada, then when she fucked around (with me) he moved back to Ohio.
What a monkey fuck!
I'm happy to be out of it, but years later, she's still fighting to get into USA, Canada won't let my replacement get in, and the kids are shuffled between Ontario and Ohio where their father lives now.
If anyone thinks it's an easy, simple matter of paperwork, they don't have a clue.

Try that on a per capita basis.

There sure are a lot of Canadians here in Florida living in nice houses. One 400' feet from us right now.

Now doesn't seem to be such a great time to move up there unless you like roasting hotdogs amd marshmallows.
