its all about imagination... ooc casting call

Think of Lord of the rings .. kinda... except... its not the same world ..... if anybody was part of that elven fantasy then ... this is kinda like that one... except ... its a little different

so I’m going to write .. an idea.. This is my first thread don’t kill my idea until you read it all the way through please..... (sniff sniff)

First I vill discrrribbe za vorld.. (Sorry about the antics, didn’t get much sleep last night, bear with me while I describe the map...)

(the east island)Think of what the world looks like now and then break Asia in half so that India is on the half that's broken... and connect that half with Australia. This area is run by ogres and Orks.. They have banded together after the great Invasion. After succeeding in destroying the neighboring kingdoms on the main island the banded their forces together to plot their next take over... (Elves, Halflings, humans and gnomes make good slaves)

(the main island)The bigger half that is connected with Africa squish together so it looks like a diamond.. kinda.. there's a mountain in Europe and a vastly huge forest in the south of Africa... in the middle there are the plains.. with a few scattered splotches of forestry... On the main land in the mountain is the great dwarven council, which is lead by the greatest of dwarfs, Grughan. In the middle where the mountainous area becomes the plains and in the center of the plains is the neutral zone. This zone is run by a different breed of orks. They all are a tribe which live in the center of the lands.. Its called neutral territory because if anyone tries to fight the there the Wise one will can your ass. Everyone knows and reveres her. She is respected by both dwarven and elven lands.. because the neutral territory, lies between the drwarven mountain and the Elven kingdom there is peace btw the elves and dwarves.

(The enchanted Island)The Humans live on a an island far in the western end .. take the America continents and squish them together and shrink the size about four times.. this land is surrounded by a magical boundry…. It’s a joke to the rest of the world .. because the humans believe they are the only intelligent race that exists…

(The trading island) Below that is an island about the size of Brazil. On this Island every race imaginable is there. Its run by a five “mobster” families and they all are the government..

Here iz ja estori …

The Elvin king’s beloved wife and heir to the throne were on a diplomatic mission to the dwarven kingdom… some how they have disappeared.. fragile bonds between the kingdoms have been straining… there are no real threats by the dwarves and the dwarven council sent a “diplomat” to help with the search of the missing queen and heir… The Elvin princess Liliana demands that they gather a search party… a letter was sent to the Elvin Kingdom stating that the Wise one has information which may help. Liliana has decided to call forth people that may help….

In every story there has to be a hitch… here it is … the Elvin king has suddenly become sick and there is no apparent heir .. because he’s missing. If the king dies and there is no heir then the kingdom will be put into chaos……

So what kind of characters do I want playing…

Well… there are a few that have been suggested :
I will be playing princess Liliana… and I was hoping for someone to play the dwarven “diplomat”, I need someone to play the liliana’s bodyguard and another to play the king’s bodyguard that will be coming along the mission… I was hoping as soon as I got enough people interested I would write up the play … if you can think dnd then think about 7th level 3rd ed.

Since I am playing the princess I will describe her…

She’s kind of the rebel in the family.. cant stand the fact that she’s a princess.. looks up to her brother the heir… and since he’s gone missing she wants to help.. she stands at about 5’2” long red brown hair.. (looks red in the sun but if you tell her that… she might get angry) which she keeps braided into a crown on the top of her head.. when you meet her she is wearing court apparel… beautiful suede hunter green gown which fits in the top like a second skin… until it gets to her waist then it just flows like water.. When she talks to you her dark green eyes take every detail of what she sees….

This is a thread which will have two parts … based on what happens in the first the second will then take place forty years later…

So now that you have read the entirety of my thread am so hoping that you will be interested …. post on this thread and let me know what you think.. also if you have a concept (think your creating a character in the game.. so pick a class or multiclass)
if you have any questions PM me .. I will be more than happy to answer them...

Sounds like an interesting idea. Mind if I play Liliana's bodyguard? Think Paladin:

Delbaeth.

Delbaeth's family have long served the royal line of the elven kingdom, so much so that their destiny has become intertwined around that of the royal family, like ivy on the tree. None of their line have ever refused the call to duty.

Delbaeth's elder brother was to have served the princess as a bodyguard. Delbaeth wished to become a bard, a role which in the elven kingdom was as much historian as minstrel, as much advisor as entertainer. It required centuries of study, and absolute dedication.

However, in a simple practise bout with his brother, Delbaeth accidentally struck him down, killing him. The guilt of this still stains him, and has turned the calm, light-hearted bard-to-be into a brooding and haunted figure. As well as his brother, Delbaeth also dealt the death-blow, in that single ill-fated stroke, to all his hopes and dreams for the future. He could not be a bard now; the only honourable thing to do, for the family, for the royal line and for his dead brother, was to take on his obligations and become the princess' bodyguard.

Delbaeth has transferred all the talent he wanted to use as a bard and all his frustration and guilt into a singleminded regimen of training. He is absolutely determined not to fail, and cause the deaths of those around him again, to keep the princess safe from all harm. He practises alone, with sword and spear and bow, every morning and evening in the royal courts. He runs over countless scenarios for assassination in his mind, and takes precautions against all of them. He has not sung, or even picked up an instrument or book of tales, since his brother's death.

Delbaeth is a pale, high cheekboned, dark-haired elf whose eyes have become dark and hollow. He is generally dressed in full armour, with a sword and a blank shield. All of the metal has a strange green sheen to it, a product of the secret elven forges.

Sound okay?

yeah sounds great .. now we wait for more players... hoping to get a few more them I can start posting for a thread starter...

you could say that you are a new bodyguard.. your family's honor was ususally placed on the heir, but because none of the children were ready for the heir the king choose an old friends daughter..(monk) to be the heirs bodyguard... a human/elf half breed... she is never seen or heard.. she just was.... she has also dissappeared because she had accompanied the mission and thus had dissappeared as well..

one thing that you would know about the princess is that she has a bad habbit of running away dressed as a boy and frequentling inn and taverns.. just to learn about what the people say... i can assure you that when the bodyguard found out her antics was none too happy...

she been more desperate of late since her brother's dissappearance and her that is how you her bodyguard found out...

All righty. One question: will the princess be intended to go on the search for the missing heir, or just run off on her own to do it?

she's going to start the search and get people to go on it.. so of course your not going to let her go on her own...

Well, strictly speaking, Delbaeth should be demanding she stay right there in her comfy room surrounded by a billion elven guards until she's old and wise, but failing that (I'm seeing, two, three hours of solid arguing), I guess he'd give in and, naturally, accompany her.

wow she doesnt even need to prove her point... thats awsome...
I asked everybody to pick a class and the princess never did herself.. being a diplomat its important for her to be social and know all languages... she sings, and plays the harp... but in her free time she used to practice playing with daggers with her brother.. but since he disappeared and her father became sick she studied about the healing herbs and medicines trying to find a cure for her father... who life is on the very brink of death.... She doesnt like to be confined to anyone place..and loves sneaking around... so you can imagine the her guard has his hands full... her old one has retired and that you were hired...
the pricess is a cleric/ bard I wasnt sure if you knew that yet... she picked up learning after her mother....

Huh. Bard. Delbaeth would, naturally, be somewhat jealous of the fact that she got to study bardic lore when he didn't. A bit of resentment; another element to what's shaping up to be a pretty weird dynamic.

well I hope to get a few more players... I suppose I can start a thread.. and hope for more players along the way... I'll play a few players... and then we'll see... that sound good to you ?

Fair enough. I'll look out for the thread.

Lady im in Expect to hear from me i have some questions than ill play

Lady...may I?

Gavin (1 Clr/4 Ftr/2 Rng), the youngest of King Grughan's nephews, played upon his uncles ear to be assigned the duty of assisting the Elven kingdom in their search for the missing royalty. Not only to prove his worthiness to the court but also because he truely believed that finding out the cause of the royal dissapearance was best for the Dwarven Empire.

Gavin, secretly fearfull that the East Islander Orcs may someday take into their number the Orcs of the Nuetral Territory, has trained in his spare timeto learn all the intricacies of Orcish culture; fighting styles, movement patterns, language, largescale battle tactics,...etc. Even going as far as traveling to areas where Orcish mercenaries could be hired as sparring partners.

His journey to the Elven lands were uneventful, his entourage boring him sensless with histories which he had heard countless times. If the king accepted him as a companion for the search party, the rest of his company was to stay at the castle as dignitaries. Which was for the best, for all their high court titles, the best of them were nothing more than fat old dwarves in robes, the least of them being whining upstarts seeking nothing but court favor.

hey thats great ...

I like your character I am assuming you want to be Gavin.. very good... you can post what you are doing or you could be at the tavern drinking ale... of course you would be shocked to see the princess there .. although she currently isnt dressed like one..

the king has given you his hospitality which includes a bout of hte town .. just post and be merry if you want to post right away you can be in the tavern ...

Thalios Kos

Wanna thow my charcter into this just not sure where he'll fit in at the moment. Reguardless let me entroduce Thalios Kos....

Thalios Kos or simply Thay for short.

The rogue's body is lean and hardened from his rigorous training as a young boy. His long white hair cascades down over his face, shoulders, and back stopping about the top of his arse. The gaze from his black eyes with electric blue pupils that seem to glow softly, is calming and reassuring, as is his soft yet dominating voice. A silk, deep violet doublet clings to him and outlines the shape of his upperbody, and black breeches with slashes in the sides allow him to use his cat-like agility. Steel-toed boots with silver plates cover his feet, and a hooded cloak of raven black his frame. A leather choker with a celtic cross clasp of pure silver adorns his neck.

If you know of a place for me to fit in let me know, I'll be thinking of something to help get me to fit in until then.

Thanks

Guess I'll throw my character into the mix, he's my first, so be gentle.

Lan Hawker... An unknown enigma. This man is known by many names in many different areas, and well-reknowned for his skill with the sword. Although once employed as a mercenary, Lan now just wonders the land, though no one knows why.

Lan is made of almost pure muscle, though his 5'10 frame belie his ability to fight. He is almost always quiet, and seems to think more than speak, though he isn't afraid to speak his mind. Although his anger rarely comes out, when it does it comes it violent bursts, shattering the outward calm appearence he so often wears.

Lan is always dressed in a woolen brown cloak tightly woven to keep the elements out. He carries a what appears to be just a normal sword strapped to his back, though it's golden gilded sheath and hilt seem to hint at something more. As always, he seems to be waiting for something, and just looks on....

those characters are great ... they can be in the tavern .. or you can post whenever you feel comfortable entering... have at it.. ...

we need some female characters... I think I will npc one until I find someone to play her...

this is one..

her name at least what she tells everybody is Anya she's about five feet and has dark brown hair and golden brown eyes.. she's dressed in leather armor.. and yes it looks like her cloths got more pockets than cloth.. she wears a dark brown cloak.. Anya is Liliana's childhood friend.. she's a "street rat" a theif, you know .. kinda she doesnt really need the money but her theory is that the fat rich guys wont miss it .. so she'll take relieve them of it ..

she is basically a small framed girl is a half elf.. (is about seventy in age but looks like she's eighteen) she definately is woman.. but not as obvious as lily .. she's the only one allowed to call her lily and love to remind everyone about that fact...

(basically she's rogue 5/mage 2)

Oh, hey, looks cool.

Thinking about joining. Wanted to know if a hlaf ork/ half elf character could work? Right now, I'm thinking along the lines of a criminal in the neutral zone who got himself caught and is now forced (magically) to be a guide for people crossing the area.

Is that okay? Just thinking aloud at the moment.

Okay! Character madness!

Name: Yrismir (Yris)
Race: Half Elf/ Half Ork

Yrismir of the Blade, Lord Enforcer of the Neutral Zone, was an oddity. Child of an elf and an ork, Yrismir was the only of his kind he knew of. Although he was born in the Neutral Zone, a land where many species gathered and lived together, no one knew of a person of his background.

His father had died before he was born, or what, he knew not. His mother had died in childbirth. Having no elven family in the area, and no knowledge of his father's clan, he had been an orphan. Adopted into the Wise One's house, he had grown up around the seat of power in the Neutral Land.

Once he was of age, he joined the Enforcers, those who kept the Wise One's Law. Although the Wise One herself kept the lands safe, and was the seat of Rule, the Enforcers made sure that the laws were obeyed in wide areas, mostly enforcing minor Laws to keep things running smoothly, and helping end any disagreements that would come up throughout the Neutral Zone.

As he aged, he advanced up the ladder of power, moving into the Lower Circle, those more versed in the Law and its practice, who handled more complex issues and worked for the High Circle. Recently, he had been promoted to the High Circle, the elite who acted not only as the Wise One's personal bodyguards, but also as her administration, watching over the day-to-day running of the Neutral Zone, to leave her to handle the most important of matters.

Yrismir stands a head taller than most elves. His skin is a deep olive, while his hair is white, ecept for two areas of black which start at his temples and taper off near the back of his head. Most of his hair is cropped close to his head, except for a braid of hair at the nape of his neck that reaches midway down his back. His body is more muscular than an elf's, and his facial features are less delicate and angled. His ears are pointed like an elf's. While he is obviously not an elf, he also does not look like any ork.

Being a member of the High Circle, he is one of the few people within the Neutral Zone who carries a lethal weapon. His weapon is one of the last of the ork weapons carried before the tribe gave control to the Wise One, a great bastard sword called Kinslayer. Yrismir also carries a large round shield. He is also experienced in use of a staff, the weapon of Enforcers.

Yrismir was sent by the Wise One to carry a message of willingness to help to the Elven Lands, and to lead any searching for the missing royals back to her.

How's that? Good? Bad?
