So I went to the doctor like I said I would.

It was interesting. I feel kind of bad for the guy, because he seemed like he really wanted to get to the bottom of this mystery, but he could find no logical reason why I'm running a nigh constant fever. He said my pulse was kind of uppity, and there are some other things leaning toward some kind of thyroid thing (hyper or hypo, I get those mixed up). There were a few other minor quirks, but other than that, I'm fine.

Except that I've lost the curvature of my spine. He seemed genuinely baffled by this. Apparently I had it at one time, and now it's gone. I say it's always the last place you look. I'll check under the couch cushions later.

So, long story short, they're doing a blood analysis and will get back to me. Might be the thyroid. Probably isn't. I've had it tested a bazillion times before. I've left behind a very confused medical professional, so my work there is done.

Thank you to everyone who has expressed concern. I appreciate that a lot, but I didn't mean to worry anyone. I'm pretty sure everything is just fine. :)

Well you know I want things to be best for you.

It's smart to listen to your doctor and maybe get yourself a second opinion to just to compare notes if he starts to get heavy on you and not putting these things off is a sure sign of making things do work out for the best.

:)

Time to head to the Mayo Clinic.

Ask to see Dr. M. Khan, of endocrinology.

Bring it, elf-lover! I'll show you what a spineless girl can do!

Er, I really didn't mean that the way it came out.

It's a low-grade fever. It just won't go away. Makes me dizzy and cranky. The spine thing just seems like an oddity. He commented that it was strange, but didn't attribute it to any kind of health risk. It doesn't hurt or anything.

If the test comes back negative, I'll get a second opinion. If the fever breaks 100F, I'll go to the ER. I'm not taking this lightly, but I'm not going to lose sleep over it. I actually feel fine. A little warm, a little dizzy. That's it.

Cheffie, are you sure you can handle my best bits? I wouldn't want to leave you in a coma. ;)

I'm glad you're ok... very glad. Maybe you're just extremely horny?

I guess I really am a hot chick.

Interesting theory, Dillinger. I'll be testing it over the next few days. Thoroughly. In the interests of science, of course.

NO MAULINGS Naudiz

Unless he fixes ICQ first.

Rather than start a new thread, I'll update this one.

No word back from the lab. It could mean there's nothing wrong with my thyroid, but experience has taught me it more likely means my doctor is so flaky he stays crunchy in milk. Yesterday I was fever-free. Now it's back. I'm going to monitor it over the weekend, and if it's still going strong by Monday, I'm going to have my doctor refer me to a specialist. I have no idea what kind of doctor specializes in inexplicable fevers.

On the plus side, I don't feel all that bad -- dizzy mostly, unable to focus. None of this has been painful. It's just irritating, and I'd like to know what's up.

Immunologist? Just a WAG. It would seem to me that you have the symptoms of an infection.

Oh, and if your problem is really with your thyroid or one of your other glands, maybe an endocrinologist?

I still think that sounds lik you normal.

*laugh* A tit? Where? Right behind her shoulder? That kind of looks like a tit to me.

I just got a call from my doctor. I actually do like him. He's nice. I'm just so irritable when I can't focus. Hmph. When I can't focus, I can't write. When I can't write, the urge to strangle someone becomes strong and vibrant. How this differs from my normal personality is very subtle, I know.

Everything is within normal ranges for thyroid, etc. Probably a low-grade infection, but nothing serious. So I'm going to take it easy, drink lots of liquids, and give my body the time it needs to heal. I'll still keep an eye on my temp, but knowing for sure it's nothing serious is always good. Thus the saga ends.

Cheffie? --> :kiss:

What do you mean "the saga ends"?

I didn't even get a chance to say "Sounds like she who rocks a lot has got the Boogie Fever";)
