Hey guys, I submitted a story in .docx format and it didn't upload immediately and is waiting for manual approval. How long does the process usually take?

My last one took three or four days. About average I guess, at least in my limited experience.

The current posting delay for stories cut and pasted in the submissions box appears to be three days--my last three have been--whereas it's been two days previously for more than a year (four or five days before that). That's using the simple method of submissions, though. Trying something fancy seems to take longer and I have no idea why anyone does it.

Exactly. Because Laurel just cuts and pastes the text from a word doc into the submission form anyway. Cut out the middle men, do the copy and paste yourself. If you have bold, italics or underlined text, put the html tags in yourself. It's all going to look the same no matter what kind of formatting you have in you .doc file.

No story uploads immediately. Whether you paste it into the submission box or upload a file, it is checked by Laurel before it is approved. Most times it takes 2-3 days between a story's submission and its posting. It might be a little longer if you're a first time author here, or if a contest is going on.

It may speed the process a bit if you paste your story, already including any HTML tags you want, into the submissions box. That removes a step on Laurel's end, from what I know.

I did things like you guys told me to. Now I am going to wait. Thanks for the help.

To my knowledge; Laurel is the only person who does it, and the site is ran by two people, she also determins where on the site it goes, if where you want it doesn't seem right, as well as some degree of spell, and grammar check, and makes sure it adheres to the sites policies, including being the right wordcount- which I believe is 750 words for a full Litpage...?

Mine was about 3,000-4,000 words in length. What happens then? It was just rejected for formatting issues(my bad) and I re submitted it for approval after editing it. Lets see how it goes.

Submit stories as a .Doc file, not a .Docx file. I think Laurel has an old copy of Word.

Yeah I did do that. Formatted the story in the space provided in the submission page. Thats not an issue. Anymore at least.

The submission form now includes a .docx file as being allowed.

I noticed that .odt files are also allowed. That's what my word processor - Libre Office - uses, but I'm still going to copy and paste.

750minimum. There's a way to turn off all exra formatting in word, if you don't punctuation is replaced with shit like this : ¿?%

If you set your paragraph format to this...

attachment.php

And just add the extra return between paragraphs you will be golden when you copy & paste.
