So, I am going to try to get Wolfy cat a lil kitty pal

Oh, they might not at first, but eventually they'll feel each other out. Cats are hierchical, so the kitten will know its place, and the two will get along.

A year old is a good time.
I recommend giving both treats and catnip- together. Play with them. Just be careful of giving the new one too much attention, in front of wolfy.
There may be some resistance, at first. But, if my Mr. Kitty, the most irritated cat in the world, can live with 2 adult cats and 4 kittens, wolfy will be just fine.

Good luck! :)

Pussy Talk............sssshhhhhhssssss...........:p

Hey koalabear, How ya been ? Good to see ya................

A kitten would give them both the most chance of adjusting to each other - at first they won't get along, but they will eventually.

Just fine Wiz good to see you again, don't be such a stranger, they even made a smilie in your honor!

:D

I have two cats.. one is 12 and the other is seven.

They have never gotten along. They don't try to kill each other anymore (had them both declawed.. so I don't care if they do try to kill each other now).

My Aunt always buys (or gets) two cats at the same time.. seems to work out alot better than trying to get two cats of different ages to accept each other.

We have Siren in bedroom and lil wolfy is outside in the rest of the house....we cant leave her alone with him as he is chasing her all over the house....

What do you all suggest we do to make lil wolfy less pissy and angry at us, and for him to stop trying to reclaim dominance by jumpin on Siren?

I think maybe Siren is a bit too young for him and his rough house playing at this stage,,,,,and we might have to wait a few more weeks.

What do you think?

He isn't likely to really hurt her if you put them together, at least while you are home to watch them. Soon it will be Siren turning around and chasing Wolfy to play.

We found a cutie pie kitty girl...........

she is all grey silver color........
she is 12 weeks old........

she is fearless, dominated wuzzy wolfy immediately.

Now, wolfy, is having a tantrum.
Even though Big Wolfy spent alone time with lil wolfy......
he is still being pissy,
he is angry at us,
hiding under furniture,
meowing up a storm and he is jumping all over lil SIREN.........yep, that is her name......Siren......

When we introduce a new cat to our house, we keep him or her in a seperate room for some amount of time. We keep switching the rooms, and putting the other cats in the room recently vacated by the new one. Don't close them in, just let them get accustomed to the scent. Then, slowly bring the new kitten out for play dates, a couple of minutes at first, etc. It allows them to get accustomed to eachother's scents. Another thing, during the "play dates" be sure to feed both the new kitten and the old cat, treats, equal amounts of love and attention, etc.

Dont be such a pussie. Let them work it out. Did Noah build two arks?

I did this and now the little kitty rules the house with the fat cat and dog walking on pins and needles.

hehe

Don't worry too much about it. They'll work it out with one another.

Of course, it took my George about 2 years to really warm up to Gracie...
