American Idol. A little back story. I go every Thursday and sing karaoke with a little group of my friends. Have for years. Well lately some weird stuff has been happening. Know this right now, I don't even have the ability to watch television. We don't get local channels, and I refuse to pay for dish or cable. All I watch are movies.

Well, three separate times now, I have been approached out shopping, at the park, or elsewhere and told by a stranger that I need to go try out for American Idol. Then My baby sitter ( who knows nothing of all this) came over the other day and told me that she dreamt that I won American Idol. Now, it is happening all the time. People I know, some I vaguely recognize. Its so strange. So, I have decided that I'm going to audition next time they are with in driving range. What do you guys think, is this insane?

Pick a song that showcases your voice. Don't use something that everyone sings - I'd go back a few years to find a classy tune.

Open Arms - Journey? I'd choose that one. I Will Survive has almost become sort of cheesy.

That has some clever lyrics--might be a standout. Try that one.

I will survive and Total Eclipse of the Heart are two of the most over done karaoke songs in the universe. I love how my voice sounds on Open Arms, and King of the Road is such a classic song.
