Even Pat Robertson says that Ms. Rodham-Clinton ( D. NY) has no need to apologize in the wake of the TRUTH coming forth - Why would we "bend to you silly Canadians wanting an apology for something so unimportant"

I'll apollogize for the existence of Pat & Hillary - they're both embarassing ill-informed attention whores with agendas.

It's pretty silly to be critical of Canadian border security considering we couldn't even secure Logan airport.


I deeply regret the loss of Canadian life from US fire. The pilots should have been made aware of their presence. The pilots should have disengaged when directed to do so. We should be big enough to admit it.


I 'd like to remind everybody that Canadians have been the most active & effective Peace Keepers the UN has ever used.

Canada grants political assylum to more people than any other nation. It demonstrates greatness.

It is good to see that this thread has thus far not turned in to a grandiose flame contest. With fingers pointed where they belong at the american leadership and not the people in generalization. There are a lot of good open minded well thinking americans and kotori and patient1 exemplified that in this thread commendably.

And for all of the varied opinions of him, p_p_man's quote of;

"A patriot should always be ready to defend his country - against his Government"

This quote represents what happened in america once where people needed a change in leadership.. it was for independence.

Also given the long list of cover ups, mess ups, hidden information in the interest of "national security" with Pearl Harbor, Vietnam, Kennedy, 9/11 and more. Plus the rampant abuse of underfunded SEC, other essential governmental agencies and especially in social programs.

Where democrats with republicans are in bed together with so many openly underhanded moves that most dont see. But these "leaders" are politicians and masters of distraction, with capabilities in such that often surpasses that of a magician. Even their dialogues draw similiarities to WWE stars role play entertainment, but at least the wrestlers admit they are acting.

A new independence is needed in america with reformed governmental process and leadership. To circumvent the "iron umbrella" of corporate/ politically controlled media would take travelling a lot of america and the world. Many here have done that, including myself and its easier for us to see.

Can americans unite again to bring about the better leadership that they need and deserve ? With doing so peacably ? Time will tell.

Its not just america that could use a face lift in leadership. But at least awareness grows therein and about the world with change being inevitable.. it always is.

Yes, I DID mean to be provocative..

but, as patient1 and wolf song have noted - NOT a flame on the American people. I have spent a goodly portion of my working life travelling in the Great Republic, and many of you know that my last two years of highschool were spent there.

The broader issue, already aluded to, is the "out of control" politicians - in BOTH countries. You have a President that was "elected" under a cloud - and we have a Prime Minister who has overstayed his welcome by at least a year.

This "general malaise" we ALL feel at present, with economies on hold and probability of Global conflict has been exacerbated by the Damned Pols... and, what's worse - we "elected" them!

Very much agreed in each Jimi with compliments to yourself in getting the point as politely as you could. Whether american, canadian or any nationality, awareness is growing. Especially with the web where more are becoming worldly with so many views at their finger tips. Which has a membership that grows exponentially each day and puts quite a damper in traditional propoganda control techniques.

Every time some one puts forth a courteous well thought view point it is listened to accordingly by at least one. Grandstanding is for those whom seek attention or to create distractions. Which is rather a waste of time, unless one is a politician, entertainer or just having a wee bit of rowdy fun.

A real person looks past race, nationality, religion and so many more differences.. then shares in positive ideas. Real people working together is what brings about brighter tomorrows.. not just for themselves. But also for children with generations to come and doing best in making each day better than the last. Which already several have done in this thread and so many others here in Lit and beyond this community.
