About 1/10th the number of downloads as most of my other stories...

Now that sucks because a couple of other stories kinda fall into that category.

Sincerely,

Heh. Try "Letters and Transcripts."

*silence*

*crickets*

*tumbleweed*

You know what we should start? A "read and vote on the person above you" thread. It's like a pyramid scheme, only it works.

Hmmm. Thing is though, could we handle that maturely, and not carp and whine if someone voted below a five, given that we'd know who it was? Or would it degenerate into hurt feelings and backbiting?

What am I talking about. This is us. A group of grown adults sharing a deep common interest in language and artistry.

It'd be bloody chaos. ;)

Okay... maybe it's just me, but I already spend TOO much time here.

This would make it exponentially worse.

*grin* We shall see. I posted it as its own thread. Worth a shot.

Actually, it wouldn't really have to eat your time at all. I put a three-Lit-page limit on the size of works to be voted, and it's a one-to-one ratio, so you control how much reading you want to do.

Suggestion: Garner a decent amount of readers in one catergory, then try another catergory. Some of my followers have bravely followed me where no romance connoisseur has gone before: Non-Consent.

(okay, maybe they have gone there before. It's all about the drama, people!)

My readership tends to follow me, even into uncharted waters. Not all of them of course, but a significant number.

It's the legs....we can't help ourselves. ;)

I think there are many people (several in the AH in fact) that would follow you into a lake of flaming lava if that was where you chose to go. ;)

I can't do that... :(

15 Short Stories (All 3+ Literotica pages)
and
2 Novels (1 complete and 1 In Progress)

The stories are already written, I'm just posting them here now.

Erotic Horror seemed the best place for a Christian Mythology based Succubus/Incubus based story.

It's also probably the best for a 'someone goes hunting a family like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre one'.

Most of my stuff lands in Erotic Couplings by default though... I just hope they don't mind some light bondage. I would stick to one category except I have to convert certain stories into +18.

I check it out

I usually check out that section. It's pretty cool. There are some good stories there. Never have looked at letters and transcripts, though.

I think that sometimes it's one of those things that just depends.

My one erotic horror story has tons more views than any of my others, but it was submitted as a Halloween Contest entry, and that makes a difference.

Letter and Transcripts is nowhere land, and oddly enough, Chain Stories gets very few views, as well.

Alas, you are not alone.

I love to read to letters and transcripts and was excited when I first came to Lit because there was a whole section dedicated to them!

Then I clicked a few open and they were all transcripts of cybersex! I left and went somewhere else (BDSM, I believe, where I found several amazing stories posted Moyd's Jewel). Eventually I went back and read a few stories there written by people I know from here and was relieved to find some genuinely wonderful stories! I have since posted in that catagory myself, and the story I have there is one of my best. However it definitely has the fewest number of views/votes.

Erotic Horror? Can't read it. I'm too impressionable. I know that there are a lot of really amazingly written stories there, but it would give me nightmares for weeks. I'm a scaredy cat. :cattail:

Agreed, the cybersex transcripts get on my nerves. Sorry, but there is nothing more dull to my eyes. :(

I think Erotic Horror is quite a unique category (and not only because it's my first love, and favourite). It's because erotic horror is actually a genre (well, sub-genre if I'm gonna be picky) in its own right. None of the other categories here at Lit could be classed as specific genres, outside of the wide umbrella of "Erotica" (except non-erotic, of course).

Erotic Horror usually - at least in print publications - has a more comfortable relationship with horror than it does erotica. Most erotic horror writers out there are horror writers first and foremost (Edward Lee and Wrath James White to name but two). So, I believe that when it comes to erotic horror here at Lit, the readership might be more limited, but those who do read it on a regular basis tend to be more into the genre and enjoy a good story - they don't look to erotic horror for the sex (and, let's face it, most who come to Lit look to find a story that will get them hot).

If you have erotic horror stories, get them submitted! There are plenty out there who do enjoy that sub-genre, and will give you feedback. That's another point - the feedback I get from erotic horror tends to be more substantial and focused than that from most other categories.

At the end of the day, don't worry about which category your stories will go into. If it's a good story, it's a good story, simple as that.

Actually, I would call that a Non-Human story.

Except 'everyone' starts out human and gets converted...

See what I mean? Kinda tough to classify things... I went with the 'who would this offend the least' suggestion that I saw floating around.

I like the avatar by the way, bb.

What Lou said ...

Mad love for the Erotic Horror! More more more!

I find it's more the redhair and general sense of spunkiness...but the legs certainly don't hurt...<g>
