Rape Law Bans Sex With Dead Bodies, Wisconsin Supreme Court Says

Reversing lower court judges who said Wisconsin criminal law doesn't prohibit necrophilia, the state supreme court held today that rape law bans sex with dead bodies.

Because rape law prohibits sex with an unconsenting victim, "a reasonably well-informed person would understand the statute to prohibit sexual intercourse with a dead person," writes Justice Patience Drake Roggensack in the 5-2 majority opinion (PDF).

I'm stuck between shaking my head at that bit of information and thinking that you need to get out more. *shakes head*

Get out more? It seems to me it was a good thing that they didn't get in (in more ways than one).

Have respect for the dead, I always say. Even if some state governments, for whatever reason, aren't up to date with their laws, necrophilia has and will always be wrong, if not illegal.

And, who's to say that rape victims who are then murdered were raped when they were alive, anyway? I guess it's just assumed to be so, just like many laws are decided with the assumption that all people are sane.

Give me a break. Two of these whakos were twin brothers. I'll bet mom and dad are so proud!

I need to get out? I'm a fucking alien, I was from the outside and only now getting inside. You want to talk about outside, I'll fucking show you what it's like outside. The sun is shining and Beta Carinae is glowing redder than ever.

Whatever they do to cheddar cheese to make it taste like nothing is legal there, so nothing surprises me.

Taste like nothing?! TASTE LIKE NOTHING?!?!?!

Make fun of our lack of necrophilia laws if you must, but lay off the cheese!;)

What is this? I like him. He likes good cheese - Fi is he gonna stick around and flirt with the rest of us after this troll biz dies down or what?;)

I dunno. I think this is easier to crack than Minnesota, I'm still not from here.

oh puhlease... you have the people bowing and scraping to lick your boots :D

but I certainly hope he DOES stay around to flirt and talk and have fun. And while he is knowledgeable about all things Wisconsin..he's also very smart and has many things to share

It's at least as bad in New England. There, if you move in from another town as an infant, even if you stick around into your 70s you're still "from away."

you know.. I got that SAME question one night while making rounds in Bridgeport, CT. I worked nights on the long-term rehab unit.. and I walked in and said

"Hi my name is Fi, I'll be your nurse tonight.. is ther..."

he stopped me and said, "you're not from around here, are you?"

You can imagine the reaction I got when I spent a day visiting automotive parts stores in the Augusta, GA areas with a Georgia-based salesman.
