So... A Russian Sanctions Bill Sent To 45 to Sign

He signed it. Good.

Now let's see how it is enforced.
Quite. We can expect stuff like:
Sanctions? What sanctions? I don't see no stinking SANCTIONS!

Read the signing statement. My powers will NOT be infringed, peasant!

Congress didn't really mean that -- and what about crooked Hillary?
Then we'll see a whole lot of nothing. Distraction. Whatever. It'll go away.

Well ... he signed it and called it unconstitutional so he does not have to abide by it. What a complete and total ASS!

Trump Sucks.

Trump Sucks.

He wouldn't know unconstitutional if it bit him in his rather fat posterior.

Think he'll sign it? I'm inclined to say he won't.

It's already passed the House 419-3.

Then what. I can't imagine Donald's ego would handle that well.

Interesting times.

That's a ridiculous statement. If he signs it, it would mean putting the interests of America over the interests of himself.

And so far he hasn't signed it.

So, I guess he's put America first? MAGA???

I guess you approve of this action?

Why would Don L'Orange sanction his'sef? Cut his own throat so-to-speak?

Not going to answer any questions?

You were pretty clear about how you thought his ego would not allow Congress to usurp his authority to run the State Department...

Do you believe that this strengthens our position with Russia, or do you think it takes us one more foot down into the oubliette of more cold war hostilities?

I mean, if you just want to bag on Trump, that's okay by me...

So please keep us up-to-date on a daily basis of how he's failed to enact sanctions, because after all, he's not a legitimate president, he's an insane madman who colluded with the Russian to get into power and is clearly a Putin sock puppet...

 :nods:

Is this you gloating AJ? Or at least thinking you have something to gloat about. Ha.

If you think that the US should roll over for Russian meddling ala Putin, I can only be very surprised you were ever in the services. I believe I read that somewhere on here - that you were in the services. If your sycophant like obsession with defending all things Donald is more important than the US demonstrating to Russia that we will not tolerate interference in our election process... you need to turn in your credentials.

The fact that he signs it while at the same time denouncing it is not setting his ego aside. It is setting us up for the very real possibility that it won't be enforced. Like I said, he did step one. Now it has to be enforced. If it's not enforced, then he only signed it for show. That does not "make America great again". It just makes Donald Putin's puppet and the US, Russia's bitch.

And of course you once again in the uncomfortable, yet probably very familiar by now, position of defending 45.

So, I guess he's put America first? MAGA???

I guess you approve of this action?

He allowed Congress to lead him on the right path, like a good little doggie.

I'm proud of him. Now if he can just stop peeing in bed and letting Vlad get tapes of it, he'll be in good shape.

*chuckle*

That just about ends this thread. I look forward to the next Trumpgasm from the lwcj...

Yes it will be very convenient for you if the signed sanctions are enforced - one less thing you need to jump through hoops for in defense of 45.

Once his approval numbers dip into Dubya territory (i.e. Less than 30 percent), I suspect we'll see a war started by Trump, one that "nobody could've seen coming", and it will be a win-win situation for Trump (people must rally around the President at the start of a new war) and wingnuts (they get to question the patriotism of anyone who doesn't agree with the war)...."You don't support the trooooooooops!"

Now it just needs to be enforced. He has completed step one.

Called it.

Ha.

Two months after signing it, President Donald Trump has not begun enforcing a law imposing new sanctions on Russia, Iran and North Korea, Senators John McCain and Ben Cardin said in a letter seen by Reuters on Friday.

Quelle surprise.

Still no sanctions...

The White House is under fire as the deadline to begin the process of slapping fresh sanctions on Russia passed three and a half weeks ago. Administration officials said Wednesday a review process was still underway to identify individuals connected to the Russian defense and intelligence services. The White House pinned the missed deadline on the State Department.

The delay comes as Trump prepares to see Russian President Vladimir Putin for the second time face-to-face during a summit meeting in Vietnam. The White House has declined to say whether the two men plan to sit for formal talks when they both attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation meeting in Da Nang, but a person close to the administration said Trump's aides are working to arrange a bilateral meeting between the two leaders, although the details have not been finalized.
