Snow, milk, sugar, vanilla

I don't know amounts my Granny is an old-fashioned cook, you add it until it looks right.

You have to forgive me........

I am so lost what is it? What do you do with it? Please someone tell me!!!!!!!!!

You make snow creme and eat it. It's sorta like ice milk.

We get snow so seldom here in the South we have to have a complete celebration when we do.

The southerner's guide to making snow creme

#1. Check to see if the snow is deep enough to avoid collecting bits of dirt, rock, grass, and leaves.
#2. Go back in the house and wait.
#3. While waiting, collect the other ingredients (sugar, milk, vanilla).
#4. Uh oh. Too late, the snow has already melted!

LOL That's almost true.

I think I'm going to sit a bowl on my porch tonight and let the snow collect itself.

ROTFL...

It is a bit of vanilla and a bunch of sugar mixed into about a cup or two of cream, depending on the size of your bowl... take the bowl outside, scoop it full of WHITE snow, return and add the other ingredients while stirring until you reach something close to the consistency of soft ice cream. Very delicious. Excellent licked from the belly of a willing friend. Best served with a small tumbler of your favorite liquer, such as Kahlua or Creme de Cacao or Godiva.

Poor Desdemona, so much you're missing out on...

I'm not usually paranoid to this extent or squemish but there is no way I would every eat snow! I wonder how many people would drink rain water? It's basically the same stuff, just frozen.

I heard of it

We had about 2 inches of snow in the southern part of the state last night. I am sure that someone was outside gathering it up for some good creme.:D Later.

So it would seem. You get bonus points for the creative serving suggestion. :p

I heard that snow isn't clean until after the first 6 inches, or more, has fallen.. the first snowfall collects pollution out of the air.

I saw a couple of snow flakes last night. scared the hell out of the animals!

If we wait for the first six inches to fall, we'll have snowcreme maybe once in our lifetimes down here.

Y'all are just trying to spoil our fun with our piddly little bit of snow. Well, we're not gonna let you. We're eating our snowcreme anyway.

i love the stuff.it has been a while since it snowed here.
hope it snows here.

I'd not heard that, but it would probably explain why my folks never made Snow Creme until the second snow of the year.

God I miss that stuff. We're supposed to get snow tomorrow, and Sunday. Maybe, if it's enough, I'll make some Sunday! :D
