Orchid was a beautiful creature and as such she usually got what she wanted or needed. And what she needed was a vacation. And while this was not exactly a vacation she was going up to her cabin for a week or so. She was going to have to bring along one of the other agents with her... and, unfortunately, she was not going to get to pick. She would have taken her best friend and they would have just lied around her cabin or gone skiing.

She was going with one of the few agents she didn't know that well. She said hi and had a pleasant conversation or two with him but really she didn't know too much about him. It was her own fault for not going out of her way to know she supposed.

"Hey, do you want to just follow me up? Or just take one car, saves on gas..." She said weighing it out in her head but waiting for his answer.

King sighed. He'd been assigned to go up with one of the other agents to look at some property. He hadn't found out until they were about to leave that he'd be staying with her in a cabin in the woods for a few days while doing so. He'd done his best to prepare, but he had this nagging feeling something was wrong. She asked him about how they should go up there, and he was glad for a problem to wrap his brain around. His answer came without hesitation. "We should carpool. Though we should take a truck, not a car. Something that can handle the roads up there." He nodded, then stretched, and studied the young woman. He had to admit, she was very goodlooking. Curves in all the right places, beautiful eyes, sexy wiggle when she walked. The odd part was that she was a bunny. He didn't mean as in a total babe, though she was that too. She was literally a bunny, long ears, fluffy tail, and such. He wondered what exactly he'd have to deal with while up there.

"Great!" She said clapping her hands together excitedly. "I have truck that I usually take up there. I'll pick you up first thing in the morning..." Orchid suggested with a smile as turned to leave. "Oh!" She said with a sheepish smile.

"I might need directions to your house..." She said trying to laugh off how silly that was. She didn't even have his number for crying out loud.

With information exchanged she left to finish getting ready for the trip. She was taking some food up there, she didn't like how early the stores closed up there, it was a small town afterall, but it would get bigger. She didn't pack many clothes, she had some up there, she brought a few 'professional' outfits for when she was talking with the clients... but other than that she was ready for the week in jeans.

~*~*~*~

"Hey," she said into her cell phone. "I'm outside are you ready?" Orchid asked getting out of her blue megacab. She was ready to toss his stuff into the back of her truck.

King sighed into the phone. "Yeah, yeah. I'll be out in a few minutes." True to his word, he was out in three minutes, carrying a backpack containing his laptop, some games, movies, and a few other things, and a big duffelbag carrying a couple of outfits and some personal effects. He set them in the back of the truck, and then climbed in, putting on his seatbelt. "Lead the way...to hell." The last bit was muttered under his breath.

"Lead the way...to hell."

She heard it but decided that it was best not to cause any issues. She left the music on low as they headed out of town. "So... I guess since we're going to be up there a week together we should get to know one another..." She suggested somewhat tentatively.

"Are you married?" She asked. And two seconds later she realized that she may have sounded interested...

Not that she wasn't... but she didn't know if she should be interested yet...

This was going to be quite the week.

He raised an eyebrow, then shrugged. He decided to ignore the way that question sounded, and treat it like an innocent one. "No. I have habits that tend to frighten girls away." He reclined the seat some, closing his eyes. He didn't need to see where they were going, and it would be a perfect time for a nap, or so he thought.

She had no idea what that meant but was glad that he had not read too much into her question. She was quiet for a moment... He didn't seem to want to know anything about her. Well, wasn't that just pleasant? She supposed that she could live with him not giving a damn about her but it was kind of irritating.

And then he was going to nap...

Great...

Of course it was two seconds later that all of this was forgotten as he favorite song, at the moment, came on the radio. So of course, despite the fact that she was supposed to be an adult and mature, she gave a giggle and turned up the music to pretty damn loud on the knob and began to sing along.

"If I could escape & recreate a place that's my own world
& I could be your favourite girl, Perfectly together
Tell me boy now wouldn't that be sweet?
If I could be sweet, I know I've been a real bad girl
I didn't mean for you to get hurt
We can make it better, Tell me boy wouldn't that be sweet?"

Oh yes... she could sing.

One second, he was drifting off to sleep, the next, loud music filled the cab, accompanied by a very close voice. The music itself wasn't his taste, but as he slowly opened his eyes, he realized the voice singing, which came from the bunny sitting next to him doing the driving, was actually very sexy. He was starting to develop a raging hardon, and quickly reached to cover it up. Then he looked at her, raising an eyebrow. "How far is it exactly to this cabin of yours?"

"How far is it exactly to this cabin of yours?"

"Hmm?" She asked turning down the radio considerably. "Oh... about a four hour drive, if we don't hit traffic," she said with a brilliant grin in his direction. "Do you have a station you like to listen to?" She asked.

Sometimes Orchid felt like a giant iPod... she always knew the lyrics.

He blinked, then shrugged. "You probably wouldn't get it. I don't listen to much music from around here." He slowly put the seat back up, and pulled out his laptop. He checked his email, and then checked several forums.

Of course she was insulted by his assumption that she wouldn't understand it or get it but she would getover it. She was going to have to spend some serious time with him and god damn the fact that he was an annoying bugger. He was handsome though, well, at least she thought so.

But even his good looks couldn't make up for the fact that he was rude.

"I can see what those habits are..." She commented softly to herself before turning back up the music. Well, at least she could enjoy her music and her singing.

Why was he so rude to her?

He raised an eyebrow, then sighed, and pulled out some highquality headphones he'd gotten as a birthday gift. He plugged them into his computer, put them on, and started up his media player. Immediately a mixture of 80s pop/rock, world Techno, and Japanese pop music filled his ears, drowning out the modern American pop. He hadn't meant to insult her, he had meant it literally, that she wouldn't be able to understand what was being sung. He finished his forum checks, and then leaned back in the seat, thinking. He knew he shouldn't be so hostile, it was just that he'd rather be doing anything but work up at a cabin in the woods. Here was this gorgeous bunny who he barely knew, taking him up to a cabin for a week, and they were supposed to work. He sighed again, and shook his head, muttering under his breath. "Why couldn't this sort of thing happen as a vacation, instead of work."

"Why couldn't this sort of thing happen as a vacation, instead of work."

Orchid did have to agree. But she wasn't in such a mood as he was. She was going to have fun and not let herself get down just because she was not on a vacation. "I know that this situation is kind of sucky..." She said not knowing if he could hear her or not with those damned headphones on.

"But it could be worse... And we might be able to have fun....We could go skiing, maybe do some snowmobiling... I have movies up there..." She explained. She knew some guys found her kind weird... maybe... maybe he was one of them...

He yawned slightly, feeling tired. He must not have gotten enough sleep the night before, he realized. He slowly took his headphones out, and turned to look at her just as she stopped talking. "I'm sorry, were you saying something?" The sound of Koda Kumi's voice floated out of the headphones.

"I'm sorry, were you saying something?"

"I was saying... that we don't need to make this like pulling teeth... We can have fun up here..." She said sounding a little irritated that she had to repeat herself with him. But what was she gonna do? Not much right now anyway.

"What is that you're listening to?" She sounded mildly interested.

He blinked, then shrugged. He yawned again, then answered her question. "Japanese pop music. Koda Kumi, specifically." He looked out the front window, wondering if he should have brought anything else. "So, what will we be eating when we get up there? And how many bedrooms are there?"

She continued to drive down the highway, glad that they had finally made it out of the city. Orchid thought about it. "Well, I brought some groceries up with me, but the cabin is stocked with canned soup, veggies, and things like that so I never have to bring much." She smiled to herself.

"I was up there last weekend with my friend and we cleaned out the pantry and got new groceries from the little market in town." Orchid looked out at the scenery as she moved down the road pushing 85 mph.

"The cabin has two bedrooms, one master and one guest... one bathroom... large pantry, kitchen, a good sized livingroom, and a deck." She smiled. "I have a jacuzzi around the back..." She said thinking she might have to go relax as soon as they got her truck unpacked.

He considered that for a moment, then nodded. He could deal with that sort of thing, as long as he didn't have to go hunting or anything. Then he saw her go into a far away, dreamy look at the thought of the hot tub. He sighed, and shook his head. "Eyes and mind on the road please. I don't want to walk the rest of the way." Then he leaned back in the seat, and repositioned the laptop. "As long as we can relax once we get there, I'm happy."

"Eyes and mind on the road please. I don't want to walk the rest of the way. As long as we can relax once we get there, I'm happy."

She frowned, it wasn't like she was off in dreamland. "Yeah, we have the rest of the day to get settled and then we start work in the morning," she said as she came around to the bend that would lead them into the gorge. She really didn't like drivig in there, the roads were very curvy and there were a lot of big trucks around...

"So... I think that we can bust all the work out in two or three days and then we can have the rest as a 'vacation' she said once she had gotten them out of the gorge... She didn't like talking in there, it made her nervous.

He raised an eyebrow at that thought, then nodded. "Sounds good to me." He stretched. "I hate long car rides. It'll be good to get inside. I might have to soak or something, to loosen up these muscles."

"Don't worry we'll be there soon," she promised. The rest of the carride was uneventful, conversation didn't change much but Orchid could admit that at least he wasn't or didn't seem so rude anymore. the pulled up the steep incline, she had to pump her gas a few times to get the car up the mountain side.

"Oh look there's some snow on the ground," she chuckled. It wasn't a lot but snow made her heart warm up a bit. "Get your stuff and I'll unlock the door," she said walking up the four steps onto the nice wooden deck to unlock the door. She entered, turning on the lights before returning to help.

"I have to turn on the water..." She said before setting her things down on the sofa and heading back outside.

He nodded, grabbing his gear out of the truck, and carried it inside. When she said she had to turn on the water, he sighed, then nodded. "I'll go find a place to crash for now." He explored the cabin, finally finding the bedrooms. He took the smaller guest bedroom, and flopped down on the bed.

It didn't take long for her to turn on the water but then she remembered she needed to fill the bird and squirrel feeders too. She reentered the cabin wondering where he had gotten off to. She peaked into his room. "Hey.. The waters on so if you want to take a shower you can..."

She looked out of the room.

"I'm going to make us some lunch ok?" She suggested before leaving.

He yawned, nodding. "Yeah, yeah. I'll be out in a few minutes." After she left, he zoned out, and fell asleep. It wasn't until hours later that he felt her shaking him awake. He sighed, stretching, and slowly sat up. "What?" He climbed out of bed, then saw something out the window. He walked over, took alook out, and then looked at her. "How long have I been asleep?"

She made lunch and returned to get him but he was out like a light. She didn't mind of course so she put his lunch in the refridgerator and sat down to eat. She was laying down on the sofa listening to the sultry sounds of the satelite music station before really dozing off herself.

When she woke it was hours later, getting close to 10 pm. She couldn't believe that she had just fallen asleep like that, but really she had been having fitful nights at home. She got up and looked out the window to see only white snow. She checked the door and let out an irritated noise.

"King!" She said running into his room and shaking him awake. When he seemed to get his bearings she sighed.

"Hours... It's almost ten at night... I dozed off on the sofa... We're snowed in..." She said.
