Snow White: Which Category?

I've written a sexed-up version of the fairy tale Snow White. I'm trying to decide in which category to publish it.

I think it comes down to four choices: Celebrity & Fan Fiction, Sci Fi and Fantasy, Exhibitionism and Voyeur, and Group Sex.

There are 68 published Literotica stories with "Snow White" in the title, although a few of them have the words "snow" and "white" used in another way. The categories for those 68 stories are all over the map. My first thought was that it would obviously be Sci Fi & Fantasy, but I wonder. The story has strong elements of exhibitionism, and I've had a pretty good experience with that category so I'm thinking about publishing it there. My experience with Exhibitionism is much better than with Sci Fi/Fantasy or Celebrities/Fanfiction or Group Sex. There is some activity that one might describe as "group sex" but I don't think it's really what the connoisseurs of that category are looking for. My impression is that the readership for Celebrities/FanFiction at Literotica is small. So I'm mostly thinking about either E&V or Sci Fi/Fantasy.

My goal is to maximize the number of readers who enjoy the story. I'm less concerned about the score it gets.

Well it depends on what exactly Snowy gets upto in your story. If you're maximizing view then according to the data that was posted on the forums a while go...

Sci-Fi/Fantasy only gets an average of 3,500 views and I'm not sure they'd necessary go for a straight up fairy tale there.

The obvious catagories don't have a lot in it.

Group Sex - with the dwarves - average 16,500
First Time - with the prince at the end or with the huntsman - average 15,000

I would have thought Snow White was the architypal virgin so despite GS having the edge I think more people would enjoy it in FT

Exhibition/Voyuer gets an average of 10,600 views. I assume the voyeursm comes in either with the dwarves coming home or the magic mirror - difficult to know how that would go over without reading the story.

You're right about Celebrities - average views only 2,500 - probably to be avoided.

There's the whole step-mother daugher relationship going on so Incest for 45,300 and again they'd probably love SW as the daughter - though that may not be what you've got planned for the story. Similarly you could play up the Reluctance for 19,700 views.

Alternatively set it after she marries the Prince and she cucks him with the dwarves constantly - stick in it Loving Wives and watch the meltdown. (45,300 readers most of whom will love to hate you)

That sounds like a rather amusing story idea! Of course, it would have to virtually drip from all the irony employed in telling that tall tale. Still, it might be a story I'll write some day when I find the time. Thanks for the inspiration!

It's really quite simple, Simon - what does she do with apple? What's the primary erotic focus of the story? You know, all that stuff you suggest to newbies who come here with their category questions...

EB, knowing he'd been absolutely no help at all, went back to writing his own pervie story, category already decided. He'd written a smooth man, now he was writing a hairy man (well, girl), so the category was obvious. Biblical stories.

To me, performing sexual acts on unconscious people sounds a lot like non-con. Trying to kill others with poisoned apples and assassins does not sound consensual either. You need to make sure you stay clear of snuff, though.

Yes, undoubtedly and fully agreed. N/C is, outside of literary fantasies, Bad.

On the other hand, if I recall my fairytales aright, were it not for the Prince having dislodged the piece of poisoned apple in Snow White’s mouth by kissing her unconscious form, she would have been condemned to remain catatonic under the dwarves’ crystal bier for all eternity. Might not one be able to make the case that that n/c act by the unprincipled prince was for the greater good?

Will you subject a young woman, recently recovered from catatonia, to the vagaries of single men with names like Horny, Shaggy, Donkey, Bonkey and Guzzler? Is the gay young prince bisexual, sporting tights and ruched velvet doublet?

You're making some unwarranted assumptions about the characters. For one thing, dwarves aren't disabled, and I don't portray them as disabled, at all. There is a little discussion of genitalia, but not in a way that's disparaging. I DO play on the names, which correspond to various sexual traits. The story is presented as an over-the-top sex farce and fantasy, although under the surface of the farce it presents themes that are common to many of my stories. One of the themes I explore, often comically (well, I tried to be comic about it), is the theme of what it means to be sexually innocent.

It's my longest story yet, although I wrote most of it in a relatively short time. Still not done proofing.

I'll probably get about the same results with either Sci Fi/Fantasy or Exhibitionism, so it's down to one of those.
