Trump is benefitting from clear, outright lies and fabrications.
Lies that are easily traced and disproven.
Smears using falsified documents, and reconstructed videos.
No, there is no proof of an invitation sent to Seddique Matteen (father of the man that killed 49 people at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida.)
WPTV television grabbed a shot of Seddique Mateens sitting with a crowd, behind Hillary Clinton.
NPR has a statement from a Hilllary Clinton spokes person, that he was not invited.
Trump activists made a video that misquoted Hillary Clinton.
They walked it back.
A troll falsified Hillary's health records.
They used a photograph of Hillary Clinton, after she slipped on a stairway to imply she was in ill health.
Sadly, even The Hill site is creating false impressions. I thought they were better than that.

They tweeted a photograph from April 19, 2016 to illustrate the Clinton rally on August 8, 2016 in St. Petersburg, Florida
They did not intend to give the false impression that she was not popular in
Florida, did they ?

How lucky Trump is! His statements are so off the wall, no one can really say for certain what he meant.
No one can tell he is he is joking or not.
Conveniently, his statements use Republican dog whistles, so the more extreme branches of the Republican party have the option of imagining that they have heard what they wanted to hear.
Sadly, since he does not make statements that are clear, concise, and easily interpreted, journalists are left with no clear answers.
Plausible deniability ?
