Ok, I have a problem. I have been noticing that about halfway through the day, I start to get very smelly on my pubic area (i am female). The problem is, I am even smeeling myself when I am not near the pubic area at all. HELP!!! I am really worried that other people can smell it to? any tips on how to prevent this, or on why this is happening?

1) You might have an infection. Go see your doctor.
2) Perhaps change your brand of soap, and spend a good deal of time lathering when you shower or bathe.
3) You might be dehydrated. When a woman gets dehydrated, her body begins to recycle moisture, which makes your urine and vaginal secretions more concentrated, as there is less water in them. Drink a lot of water.
4) Use pantyliners that are odour-absorbing.

Additional Stuff

Everything that Vixenshe just said, but these things too.

1) Get rid of the nylon panties, wear cotton. In the summer, the nylon makes you sweat big time. You can still use panty liners if you like, to keep the moisture down. You might even carry a spare with you each day so you can change about mid-day.

2) Make sure your soap is an "antibacterial" type, there are mild brands on the market. These types of soap help keep odor away longer than regular soaps.

3) Women need to wash under their clitoral hood, just as an uncircumcised male retracts his foreskin to clean himself. Gunk collects under the clitoral hood, and if not cleansed regularly, can become malodorous. Kind of like the stuff that collects in your navel, or under toenails. Full of bacteria... Left alone for some time, it can smell quite bad, especially if a guy is going down on you.

It's really easy to cleanse the area, just retract the hood with your fingers on one hand, use a mild antibacterial soap on your fingers of the other hand, and then rinse 'very' well. A mild soap should not irritate your sensitive parts.

4) I don't recall which company makes it, but there are portable vaginal wipes that you can carry in your purse to use as needed throughout the day. Look for them where the feminine hygeine products are at the grocery, or try a drug store.

5) NEVER use any powders with 'talc' in them any where near your privates... talc has been linked to cancer...

Good Luck!

I agree with the other two.

Drink water, and lots of it, try and stay away from soda drinks and coffee and stick to the water.

Shower daily, and in the heat you may need to shower twice (until you get it under control), making sure to clean yourself and RINSE properly.

When you go to the toilet, make sure you clean properly, you'd be surprised how many women don't.

The feminine wipes are a good idea for while your out, but at home after you go to the toilet, wash yourself with fresh clean water, and use a clean towel to dry yourself.

Eat lots of fresh vegetables and fruit, the same as men, what we eat does affect our private area.

Keep your bedding fresh, change your bed weekly, and make sure you wear fresh clothes each day.

Once you have it under control, continue with lots of water, and all should be fine.

Good Luck.

cool water

Definately wash your self with cool water as much as you can.
I do it everytime I use the bathroom at home to keep the area clean of any bacteria.

I fyou dont want to use feminine wipes, try damp paper towel to wipe with. (I do it cuz I am allergic to the stuff they use on the wipes) Change your underwear often, and avoid really tight fitting clothes, espcially if you will be sweating a lot. Use cotton undies also...silk and lace can be sexy buty cna give you a raging infection. If you try these and nothing works, go to your doc. If you start having weird discharge or secretions, go to your doc asap...you prob have an infection.

if you've never had an infection before, go see your DOCTOR!

don't try the over the counter stuff for yeast infections if you're not ABSOLUTELY positive that you have one... and you can only be sure if you've had one before AND had it confirmed by the doctor...

if you smell yeasty or bread like... it's probably yeast...

if it's something else... it could be another type of infection...

worst case... an std...

so, make an appointment asap! good luck! :)

smelly down there

hon......there is no real reason that you should have any smell at all as long as you use proper hygene like the ladies in here said.....a healthy vagina should have no smell or a slightly musky :)p ) smell if anything..........sounds like you may bacterial vaginosis like my ex did when i first met her..........see your gynecologist and im sure they can aim you in the right direction......good luck and ciao..........btw, do NOT douche before you go to see him.......thats very important.............
