I was keeping up a good clip on new threads, but I've hit a wall. I think having my son in the hospital for two weeks has numbed the writer for a bit. I kept up for about ten days, but now I just feel ground into pulp.

He's doing fine. Mostly its just been sitting around, getting IV antibiotics, but today he has surgery at 5pm.

I'm sure I'll get back into it after he's out, but I'm tapped out at the moment.

Carry on.

As brain surgery goes, this one is pretty routine. He's had a several of them of this type.

Was it a tumor? you don't have to tell me. My nieghbor is moving to pheonix because of one. says they have the best facility there.

Nope. He has a ventriculoperitoneal shunt, which is basically a pressure valve in the brain. It relieves cerebro-spinal fluid pressure on the brain, preventing hydrocephalus.

It stopped working properly because of an infection. He's been on antibiotics for 2 weeks.

Dude; kid; so don't the chyooing. trust me always the kid, take month off and no one should say a discouraging word, and if the do, shoot them, that is gun are for; making good nieghbors. You hear that Parliament?!

God bless

It'll be good therapy for me, once I feel like it.

He's out of surgery now, and resting quietly. He's still ornery, but that's a good sign.

Thanks for all your wishes and thoughts.

You're a thread phenomenon as an author, so your slowdown may be as productive as others' good times.

Best wishes for a quick recovery and return home.

Oh, he's so sweet. You trying to butter up a moderator? You got some nefarious plan?

Torg, I know it's online, so you don't have to believe a word I say, but please do... I know what he (& you) are going thru more than most.

I've had hydroceph. & been shunted for near-exact 25 years. VP surgery in mid-90s. In fact, I've had more CT Scans than I can count, & go find out new MRI results tomorrow. (Just been a week today since it was done.)

Take your time; I know I do.

(Also, feel free to PM me or whatever if you feel the need.)
