Why does asking someone if they have skype connote a hidden (cyber) meaning...personally, I hate pm's. Would rather just talk on skype or other messenger service.

RK, I have Skype, but I typically shy away from men in here saying they just want " to talk " through video chat. Of course, I generally shy away from all the men in here. Nine times out of 10, talking isn't what's on their minds. That's simply a fact. Not saying it's a bad thing, just saying I've felt hoodwinked one too many times by gents claiming they want to talk.

I'm sorry men liked yourself, who might have relatively genuine motives, have to be collateral damage, as it were, in the war against Asshattery.

For me, it is partially what RA said and part that I hate cameras. I rarely let my pic be taken so talking with a cam on me is quite unnerving. Just my opinion.

I thank you for the clarification. I use skype without the video just to chat and get to know each other. I hate being collateral damage, but do understand.

I get it ok...the option is always there if you BOTH want it, but I like it because you can just talk freely without the delay or limits of pm's
